Chapter 7Sunday morning went about as Gale expected. He slept until eleven, getting up a few minutes before Audra called to say she was hungry and ask if he wanted to do lunch—“Either here if one of us wants to cook, or out at whatever restaurant you like in the neighborhood.” They opted for eating out, and at her suggestion he called Cal to see if he wanted to join them. It took a moment for Cal to decide he did, at which point they agreed to meet at a breakfast restaurant two blocks away. “We can walk there,” Audra said when she arrived at her brother’s apartment. “It’s safe enough, now.” She sighed. “In a way, I suppose I wish it wasn’t, given what happened, but honestly it’s nice to know I can quit looking over my shoulder.” “I understand,” Gale replied. He locked up and they headed
