Chapter 13

Mia’s P.O.V

  Never in my wildest imagination did I think that I would come here and meet my second chance mate, hell, I wasn’t even looking for him. It had been years since that asshole left and I really haven’t trusted the mate bond at all since then. I took a deep breath to calm down just as the one Selena introduced as her sister Anna walked up to me. She looked just like Selena, but a little bit older than her. That was the funny thing about the mate bond, once you met your mate, marked each other and mated, the ageing process stopped, which was great, but it made it harder to judge who was older or younger than you.

  “Mia, listen, it's okay. We have rules here and we stick by them. Joseph will give you the space and time you need, he won’t hurt you.” Anna said and I nodded. I still wasn’t sure about this or about him, but I trusted Axel and he trusted Selena and her family, so I would trust them too. I saw a truck pulling up and felt like I was getting way too crowded here, it made me feel a little bit suffocated. The truck parked up and the engine cut off as the door opened and a young, brown haired woman. She looked at all of us and when her eyes landed on Luna Cheyenne and Alpha Mercury she rushed over to us. 

  “Dee, you finally made it, girl.” Luna Cheyenne said, smiling. The young woman smiled at both Cheyenne and Mercury, which must have meant that they must have known her quite well because Luna Cheyenne didn’t even budge at an unmated female smiling at her mate and husband, which was unusual for a Luna Alpha.

  “Alpha Mercury, Luna Alpha Cheyenne, we need to talk.” Dee said and they both suddenly looked very serious.

  “Alright, let's go to my office.” Mercury said, but Dee shook her head no.

  “No, no that's okay, we can talk now since everyone is already here, it will make it easier. Alpha Eli has gone completely nuts.” Dee said, but then she looked over at Selena and Axel, giving them a weird look, which had me concerned.

  “He wanted me to come here and seduce your mate, then he wanted me to kill him so that later he could come and snatch you up. He is going to get a witch to clear your memory of Mercury ever being your father, so that you would kill him and then Eli could be the new Alpha Don. his wolf Micheal came out just long enough to tell me that Eli was planning to kill me and that I needed to run and not to ever look back. Micheal is different from his human, he doesn’t want any of this and I promised I would find someone he could go into instead of that evil man Eli, but I have no idea how to do it and I am going to need to find someone to help with that. Anyway, that's off topic, Mercury, he won’t stop until he has her and there is something else as well, he will be here in three weeks, he already has everything planned and ready to roll.” Dee said and Mercury stood there listening. This bastard Eli, whoever he was, wanted to come after my brother and kill him so he could have his mate, Selena and use her against her father. How f****d up was this guy? How could we stop this asshole and keep my brother safe? Everything was silent after Dee finished talking and then suddenly Mercury let out the loudest, most scariest growl I had ever heard.

  Axel’s P.O.V

  “THAT SON OF A b***h WILL NEVER f*****g GET MY DAUGHTER!! I TOLD ANYONE AND EVERYONE THAT WAS LISTENING THAT DAY, IF ANYONE EVER TRIED TO HARM MY FAMILY AGAIN I WOULD f*****g KILL THEM WITHOUT MERCY AND THAT HAS NOT f*****g CHANGED!!! LET HIM COME! WE WILL STAY TWO STEPS AHEAD OF HIM AT ALL TIMES!! I’LL RIP THAT BASTARDS HEAD OFF HIS f*****g SHOULDERS!!!!” Mercury roared out, while I stood there listening and trying to hold my growl and anger in, but I couldn’t and I released the loudest growl ever.

  “WHO THE f**k IS THIS MAN?!! I’LL RIP HIS f*****g HEART OUT BEFORE HE TOUCHES MY MATE!!!” I shouted and Mercury turned to look at me.

  “I think I’m going to like you, but this is my daughter and my family, I’ll handle this.” Mercury said and that pissed me off.

  “And Mercury, just in case you have forgotten your daughter, Selena, is my mate and that makes her my family, which also makes you my family and I’ll rip any fuckers head off before he touches a hair on her head.” I replied and he just smiled at me. That was when I realised he was testing me, he was testing me just to see what I would say and how I was going to react. He nodded at me and I knew that we were going to get along just fine, especially when he smirked at me on the sly then turned his attention back to Dee.

  “Dee, I know you have got to be tired from all that driving, so go get your rest. You know where your room is.” Mercury said and Dee quickly nodded.

  Mia’s P.O.V

  Dee left after Mercury said that and I was still confused, wondering what was going on, but then Joseph came and stood beside me. I could feel the sparks between us when he stood so close and yet not close enough to touch me, but I still wasn’t going to give into them, not right now, if ever.

  “Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on? Who is Eli? What does he want with my Luna? Why did he want my brother killed?” I asked and all eyes landed on me.

  “Well Mia, sweetie, it's...it's a long story. Let's go inside and we’ll tell you.” Luna Cheyenne replied and I just nodded, shrugging my shoulders. I followed Luna Cheyenne inside and so did everyone else, so she led us all to the family room, as there were too many people to fit into an office. I sat down on the couch next to Luna Cheyenne and she began to tell me everything that had happened, from the last war they had to right now.

  “So you see Mia, Mercury made the rule you f**k with the family, you die, no butts about it and no mercy shown, simple as that you die. He made that rule clear to everyone, from werewolves to vampires and every other species.” Luna Cheyenne said and I nodded, understanding everything. This family had been through hell and back, yet they were still standing tall and that was really incredible. Nothing and no one could or would try to f**k with this family, but now this dumbass was trying to hurt them. I would help them in any way I could, there was no way anyone was going to hurt my brother, my Luna or her family.
