Chapter 21

  Mercury’s P.O.V

  The meeting had been over for thirty minutes and I was now sitting alone in my office, rubbing my hands across my face in frustration. We had been discussing what Eli could possibly be up to and also why Dee’s sister and her mate hadn’t shown up yet, but we were still none the wiser. I was now taking care of some pack business before I went to see what Cheyenne was doing, but I couldn’t concentrate on the work in front of me. I decided to skip the work and just go find Cheyenne, when my phone started ringing, making me sigh as I looked back at it. I looked at the caller ID and recognised it straight away.

  “Hello Beach, I hope you are doing well today?” I said, answering the phone.

  “Hello Alpha Don Mercury, yes, I’m doing well. I have some news for you, the man I told you about is on his way back. He has what he thinks is a potion and he will be back home in about three days, now that I have stopped screwing with his GPS. he shook my hand and I sensed the evil coming off him in waves, but I also saw something else, rogues. He has rogues on his side, willing to fight for and with him, he will use them to get her and to rip your family apart.” Beach said and I could feel the anger bubbling up inside me at the mention of Selena being taken and my family being ripped apart.

  “Thank you Beach, thank you for letting me know everything. We will be ready for him and trust me when I say that this wolf will never bother anyone ever again.” I replied, biting my tongue as I didn’t want to lose my temper, especially with someone who was helping me when they didn’t have to.

  “You’re welcome, Alpha Don.” Beach said and swiftly hung up the phone. I tried to compose myself first and then I mind-linked everyone and asked them to come to my office. No more than five minutes went by when Cheyenne, Anna and her mate William, Selena and her mate Axel, Mia and Dee came into my office, waiting for me to tell them of the latest revelations. I began to tell them everything that Beach had told me, when I suddenly received a mind-link from one of the guards on the gate, informing me of a visitor.

  “Alpha, Dee’s sister is here with her mate and they have just gone through the main gate.” Max said, mind-linking me.

  “Thank you Max, we’ll be waiting.” I replied and ended the link. Thank the Moon Goddess she was here, that was one less thing we had to worry about.

  Rebecca’s P.O.V

  It had been two weeks since we left the old pack to make our way to Dee and what was meant to only take a few days actually took a lot longer. Mercury’s pack was a two day run in wolf form or a three to four day drive, but this had taken us two weeks and all because I didn’t have GPS. Stephen and I kept getting lost and then my phone died, which really didn’t help one bit, but the biggest problem was that when I tried to mind-link Dee, I couldn’t get through to her, like something was blocking me, but I had no idea what it could have been. After looking through the maps we had and asking a few local wolves, we finally made it to the entry gates of Alpha Don Mercury and Luna Alpha Cheyenne’s pack. The Blood Moon Mafia pack. The guard who was standing on the gate seemed to know who we were straight away and let us right through, but I knew that he would link his Alpha and tell him of our arrival. I drove through the gate and then drove for a further ten minutes down a long driveway, until finally reaching a huge pack house. There was a guard or warrior standing there waiting for us as I parked the car, then Stephen and I got out. The closer we walked to him the better I could see and could tell then that he was definitely a guard.

  “Hello, my name is Rani, Alpha Mercury is waiting for you in his office. Please follow me.” Rani said and started walking up the steps to the house. We followed him up the steps and into the pack house, then stood outside what I presumed was the office. Rani knocked on the door and then went inside, gesturing us to follow him again. The first person I saw when I walked into the office was my sister, Dee. I let go of Stephen’s hand and ran over to her, hugging her straight away and ignoring everyone else that was in the room. It had been four weeks since I had last seen her and two weeks since I had last spoken to her, which was way too long.

  “Alpha, this is my sister Rebecca.” Dee said, pulling away from me and looking behind me. I turned around and saw a huge, muscular, tattooed man standing behind me and I quickly bowed my head to him. I had heard so much about him and now that I was standing in front of him all I had was the utmost respect for the Alpha Don. I knew that with just a kick or flick of his wrist he could kill me and there was no way I was ready to die yet.

  “Hello, Alpha Don, it's very nice to meet you.” I said, still bowing my head and then I heard him chuckle.

  “It's nice to meet you too, Rebecca, but please call me Mercury. This is my wife Cheyenne and these are my two daughters, Anna and her mate William and Selena and her mate Axel and this is Axel’s sister Mia.” Mercury replied, smiling and introducing me to everyone as we all shook hands. 

  “It's very nice to meet you all, sorry it took me so long to get here. This is my mate, Stephen.” I said, smiling and turning to face my mate. He looked a little scared that he was standing here with the biggest person in the mafia, but he quickly covered it up and stepped forward.

  “Hello, Alpha Don Mercury, Luna Alpha Cheyenne, it's nice to finally meet you both. I’ve heard so much about you.” Stephen said, bowing his head.

  “Oh is that right, well it must not be all good then, but let's start this. Rebecca, your sister says that you can transform into anyone for a few hours, am I right?” Alpha Mercury asked, smirking at first and then turning serious. 

  “Yes, Alpha, that is correct, but why? What do you need me to do?” I asked, curious as to what was going on. What trouble could be so bad that the Alpha Don, the King of the mafia needed to ask for help? Mercury took a deep breath and then looked at his daughter, Selena.

  “You see Rebecca, I need you to shift into my daughter for at least a few hours every day until the day comes when that asshole Eli comes to try and take her. It's just to fool him for a little while and confuse him, at least until Selena can get a hold of her powers. She is training hard, but her powers are still unknown to us.” Mercury replied, shocking me. I had no idea that Eli was coming for Selena, was he really that stupid to try something this crazy? Yes, yes he was, I thought, trying not to roll my eyes at Eli’s stupidity

  “Yes Alpha Mercury, I would be honoured to do so, just let me know when and where and I’ll be there to do so.” I replied, smiling and then looking at Selena.

  “Are you okay with this? You do know that as soon as you are one with your powers you will be a danger to him and he won’t know what hit him once you do, but it could also make him more unpredictable.” Mercury asked, still looking at his daughter.

  “Yeah dad, I’m okay with it, I really am. Hopefully we will find out what power I might have soon, until then it's going to be a long road, but I’m going to keep training. Just to make sure that Eli or anyone he has sent to spy on me doesn’t see I’ll train in the horse stalls when they are taken out and in the ball room when there aren't any meetings. I’ll make sure no one can see me train.” Selena replied and Mercury nodded, then looked at Cheyenne.

  “You have both lycan and wolf blood in you, just like your mother, sister and I, but when you got mad that day I saw it come out in your eyes. They changed colors and your voice was deeper, which is the reason your mother got pissed off at you. Never use that on her, trust me, she doesn’t like it.” Mercury said and Selena nodded, 

  “Yes father.” Selena replied and looked at her mother, who nodded but also smiled at Selena, showing there were no hard feelings between them, which was really nice to see.
