THE MORNING DRAGGED on, and hours seemed longer than usual. Time slowed down and moved at a snail’s pace. Kate wished to be in her bed between the fresh sheets with her eyes closed. That was sheer bliss. After playing that game a few times, she decided to leave the shop and go home if she didn’t get better by two p.m.
She sent a few ‘sweet’ thoughts in Ryan’s direction. She had to thank him for ruining both her night’s sleep and her day at work, after all.
Kate muttered a few choice words with a specific address and continued checking the inventory. She needed to restock soon, or she would disappoint a few of her most loyal customers.
