She had to get ready for work and needed to hurry if she didn’t want to be late. Kate resigned to be a little sluggish that day. She hadn’t slept enough, and her mind had kept turning around various ideas, although she hadn’t reached any conclusion. That upset her. She also needed to compensate for her lack of sleep, so she drank more coffee. Kate turned on the shower tap, and the warm water stroked her skin.
