KATE DEPLANED IN ISTANBUL and went to the passport control point. A polite customs officer directed her to the Primeclass Lounge. In the lounge, Kate found herself immersed in a world she hadn’t ever imagined. She had spent her life between studies and work and hadn’t left Montreal in over a decade, so the lounge looked like a different world. Kate spent an hour and a half tasting the delicacies displayed and taking it all in. The cultural differences overwhelmed her at times, but she imbibed herself in all that novelty with a passion.
