I placed my elbows on the wooden board walk rails that stood above the beach. The slight breeze lifted the ocean water scent to my nose. California was beautiful, but hot. My ice cream was already half way melted and I had just bought it. I hated when it would get this hot in Virginia and I still hated it here. We had only been here for a few hours, but I wanted out already. I can hear the loud dance music on the beach, just as well as I can hear the waves hitting the shore. The sun was beginning to set but it didn’t help the heat any. Instantly after getting off the bus, I changed straight into a bathing suit. Fortunately I had found a monokini that hid the mark.
