Chapter 8: He’s Popular (2)
***
“Aww my Ed, you’re popular~” Mason said with a teasing tone as he urged the students to walk with him. “Come on, let’s walk and talk. We could have something to eat, anyone hungry?” He asked.
“Sure…” Benedict replied as he walked.
“I’m starving~ What do you want to eat?” He continued in a cheerful manner.
“I’m fine with whatever you’d like…” Benedict said in a shy tone.
“You chose the place.” Edward said with a voice of indifference as he glared daggers at the other student. ‘Is he acting like this on purpose?’ He wondered.
“Then let’s go to the Chinese restaurant! I haven’t been there in so long and they’re food is too good to miss!” Mason exclaimed as he walked besides the other two students, matching their pace.
All of them agreed on the place and they went on their way…

After they got seated and ordered their food, the tension in the room seemed to be felt by everyone else except for the man with cheery disposition and blond dyed hair…
“Did you move here recently? Which town are you from?” Mason asked with great interest as she looked at Benedict.
“I came here from P town…” Benedict said.
“Wow… that’s close to G town, where I come from! We could have totally met each other before!” Mason said with a bright smile.
“Ah… I think we have… That’s why I approached you.” Benedict explained.
“Really? I’m so sorry I don’t remember. Was it a long time ago?” Mason asked as he tried to recall the other’s face but was unable to.
“It was… a long time ago… I’m sure you don’t remember. We were at a summer camp.” Benedict said as he played with the paper napkin on the table. He seemed to be nervous as ever.
“Ah… I really don’t. Well there’s plenty of time for me to remember this semester! Or even better, we can make new memories!” Mason exclaimed in a cheery voice, his boisterous attitude made the other feel like no matter what he said, Mason would accept it lightly.
“Yes, I would like that…” Benedict said as he lightly smiled looking down at the napkin.
All the while Edward was sitting next to his lover silently. His arms crossed, he didn’t utter a word but simply sat there and observed the other two’s interaction. ‘So he’s met him before…’ He thought to himself.
“So how do you like V city so far?” Mason asked with great interest in his voice.
“This city is so much bigger and brighter… and…” Benedict glanced at Mason, then back at the table. “…more beautiful than P town for sure…”
“Yeah, I felt the same way when I came here from G town.” Mason said smiling.
‘What’s he doing… Smiling at this guy so carefree…’ Edward was becoming increasingly annoyed while watching his lover enjoy the company of another person. ‘It’s so obvious he’s into you… i***t…’ He said in his mind but didn’t voice his thoughts to the people on the table.

The two of them chatting ever so cheerfully and the other just standing off to the side… They stood up and headed home after eating.
“It was so fun spending time with you. We should do it again next time~” Mason said as he waved goodbye to the other student.
“Yeah. I’d love that…” Benedict said as he also waved goodbye and went on his way back home.
Edward and Mason walked back to the author’s apartment since it was the closest. Along the way he continued to speak how great Benedict was…
“He was so cute~ Such a shy person, I just can’t resist teasing him a little!” Mason said as he remembered making Benedict blush several times during their interaction.
“Yeah… he sure is an interesting guy…” Edward said with a voice of indifference but in his mind he was curing the man’s name. ‘That damned pest… Trying to act all sweet around my boyfriend…’
“Next time we could all go out with Lucas and Mick as well! Since Benedict doesn’t have much friends yet, I think it’s a great way to help him get accustomed to the new environment.” Mason said while looking up to his boyfriend. “You look a bit off… Do you have a fever?” He asked, then placed his palm on the other’s forehead. “Hm… It doesn’t seem like it…”
Edward took hold of Mason’s hand and brought it to his cheek. “Actually I am feeling a bit hot… I might be coming down with something…” He said as he pressed his lover’s cold hand on his face.
“Aw… You look like a dog when you rub my hand on your cheek like that.” Mason said as he blushed lightly at the gesture.
“Your hands are cold, so it feels good…” Edward said as he moved his lover’s hand to his mouth and kissed it.
“Come on… Let’s go inside first…” Mason said as he opened the front door then moved up the stairs to the third floor where his apartment was.

“It was so hot outside, I’m not surprised you feel like that.” Mason said as he took out the ice from the freezer. “Do you want some lemonade?”
“Yeah, thanks…” Edward said as he moved behind his lover and hugged him by the waist.
“Edward…” Mason spoke in a low voice as he felt his lover’s hands creeping up under his clothes. “Where do you think you’re touching?”
“I want to do it…” Edward muttered as he began planting kisses along his lover’s pale neck.
“It’s still the middle of the day… hah…” Mason said as he continued preparing the drinks undisturbed by his lover’s actions.
“Be it day or night… I want you…” Edward continued kissing his lover softly, as he reached the back of Mason’s neck he looked at the mole that was clearly visible. He then leaned in and sucked on it until it became bright red…
