The next day at lunch Casey was talking about something that went down in her chemistry class last period but I wasn't paying much attention to her.
Instead my attention was focused on Mr. Everett who was standing over by the cafeteria doors talking to Miss Lacey, the art teacher and one of the teachers who had a crush on Mr. Everett.
Miss Lacey was a beautiful woman. She was tall with black hair and blue eyes. She had a smile that was perfect and she was young, mid-twenties. She always curled her hair and wore the nicest clothes and smelt amazing. She was curvy and was super cool— at least to some people. To me she was the fakest b***h I ever knew and that's putting Trisha Paytas to shame.
She was the female teacher all the teenage boys here drooled over but everybody knew that it was Mr. Everett that she was pinning after.
I don't blame her though.
He looked hot with his red and black flannel his sleeves ending at his elbows. He had black jeans on and his tattoos were looking better and better everyday I saw them.
God, I want to trace his tattoos.
I prop my chin on my hand as I stare at the hot male teacher in front of me not caring if I was making it obvious that I was staring.
He looked extremely hot today.
"Maria, are you even listening to me?"
I snap out of my trance and look over at Casey who is giving me a glare as I was caught red handed.
"Sorry, what were you saying?" I ask sitting up straighter giving her my full undivided attention.
Casey rolls her eyes folding her arms onto the table. "I was asking what Mr. Everett said about tutoring me."
"Oh," I frowned slumping my shoulders. "He said that you are learning a different topic and he was tutoring me only on this unit."
Casey's smile turns into a frown as the happiness leaves her eyes as she slumps down in defeat. I bite my lip looking over her shoulder watching as Mr. Everett and Miss Lacey exit the cafeteria.
I sigh looking back at Casey who was now eating her fries talking about the episode of Criminal Minds she rewatched for the millionth time.
I didn't pay her any attention as I let my attention focus on something that was more important like how I needed to get over my little crush on Mr. Everett so I wasn't having wet dreams about him every night.
It was one thing to crush on the dude but when you're having wet dreams about him nearly every night that's when you need to draw the line and go see a psychiatrist, but since I'm poor and too embarrassed, I'm drawing the line and trying to find someone else to crush on, preferably somebody closer to my age.
"Do you think you could walk home today? I know I said I would be able to take you home but my mom has me picking Jake, Carter and Justin up from school today." Casey frowns mentioning her little brothers.
"Yeah, of course. I'll just see if my grandpa can pick me up or something." I say to which Casey gives me a thankful smile as she stands up from her seat with her tray in her hand.
"Thank you, I'll see you later okay?"
She doesn't wait as she leaves the table leaving me alone with a confused look.
I don't dwell on her abnormal behavior and stand up from my seat grabbing my tray as well and leaving the cafeteria.
I walk over to my locker grabbing my copy of Romeo and Juliet and started heading towards English.
There were ten minutes before class was to start and normally Casey and I would spend this time walking around sharing the latest gossip with one another but sense she left without a goodbye, I was forced to go to class early rather than look like a loser who had no friends.
When I entered the classroom my eyes roam around looking for the tattooed man but come empty handed when there was nobody inside.
Sullenly I walk over to my desk placing my book on top of it before taking my seat. I lick my lips as I grab my chapstick from my back pocket slowly applying it onto my chapped lips.
"What flavor do you have?" A voice asks startling me making me drop my chapstick onto the floor, the tube rolling across the floor before stopping at a pair of feet.
My eyes trail up the body landing on a smiling Mr. Everett. I watch as he bends down grabbing my chapstick turning it over a smirk layering onto his face.
"Mm, cupcake my favorite."
I blush as he walks over to my desk handing me my chapstick. My finger brush against his as I take it from him, ignoring the warm wave his touch sent down my body and put the cap back on.
"How was lunch?" I asked as he walks back to his desk.
Mr. Everett shrugged his shoulders. "It was alright, I saw you watching me. Did I have something on my face?"
I blush at the fact that I had been caught staring at him and shook my head tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear.
"No, I um was actually reading the posters beside you." I lied to which he nodded his head at.
"Interesting, I didn't know you could see that far Miss Brown, your parents must be proud."
I stiffen at the mention of my parents but nod my head nonetheless and force a smile on my face. "Yep, they really are."
Mr. Everett moves his mouse around on his laptop making the screen turn on and flash across the white board, a picture of William Shakespeare visible.
"Are you ready to read Romeo and Juliet?" Mr. Everett asked sitting down in his chair cracking his knuckles in the process.
I nod my head crossing my left leg over my right leg. "I am, it's one of my favorite plays."
Mr. Everett rolls his eyes shaking his head crossing his arms across his chest as he leans back in his chair. "Of course it is, can I ask you this, why is that?"
I bite my lip in thought. Nobody has ever really asked me that so I never really had to think about it. I mean it was beautifully written, though the language was outdated, but beautiful nonetheless. The storyline is tragic and catches the eye making it one of literatures greatest pieces.
"I don't know, I just do. I guess I like the idea of forbidden love," I answer shrugging my shoulders.
Mr. Everett nodded his head. "Have you ever read Annabelle Lee, by Edgar Allan Poe?"
I shook my head as he stood up from his desk walking over to a bookshelf on the left side of the room grabbing a small black book.
He walked over to me handing me the book, my eyes looking down reading the front cover, Collection of Edgar Allan Poe Poems was carved onto it in cursive writing.
"That's what I want you to read before our tutoring session tomorrow," Mr. Everett says giving me a soft smile before walking back to his desk just as the bell goes off.
Students pile into the classroom but I don't pay them any mind as I keep my focus on Mr. Everett who was talking to two of the football players, his perfect smile showing his straight teeth that were whiter than snow.
God, he was hot.
~~
I sat in the living room watching tv with Sophia, well she was watching tv I was scrolling through social media while she watched The Vampire Diaries a show I would normally pay attention to but didn't want to for some reason today.
"Stefan is so hot," Sophia mumbles as she stared at the screen in awe.
I roll my eyes looking at the screen and back at her and shook my head. "A man that is hot is Damon Salvatore not whatever that thing is,"
Sophia gasps as she sits up straight in her seat, her eyes zeroed in on me in anger as if I just told her that I ran over her puppy.
"What did you just say?"
I roll my eyes locking my phone turning my head to the side to look at her. "Damon is hotter than that monkey looking dude on the screen."
Sophia's mouth drops open as she shoots me the meanest look she could before a smirk makes it's way onto her face as she gives me an evil look.
"Grandma! Grandpa!"
I give Sophia a puzzled look as she shouts for our grandparents, the smirk still on her face as our grandparents run into the room looking alarmed.
"Sophia? Is everything alright? What's wrong?"
"Oh nothing," Sophia chuckles shaking her head. "Just wanted to tell you something that I think you should know."
I cross my arms over my chest as I tilt my head to side watching as my sister laughs softly looking up at my grandparents giving them a fake sweet innocent look.
"Maria isn't a virgin."
That little s**t!
