Archie barged into his room and walked straight towards his bathroom and switched on the showers and stood under the cold shower groaning and trying to control Casper who was trying to come out.
“Shhhh, Casper,” He said sternly. “Control yourself, give her some time, she isn’t ready yet. And if we force ourselves into her she might suffer as she is a human. I want her too but we can’t break that barrier. We need to prepare her first or we will hurt her.
Casper was groaning desperately as the water rushed down his body as he hated to take cold showers but Archie didn’t have any option as he had to calm his hormones or he would scare Amelia. Casper was ready to shift but they still had to have dinner with her.
He knew that the attraction was mutual but Amelia was not ready to let go of those walls she had built around her so he had to break the wall first.
After staying under the shower for ten minutes he got out and wore his pajamas and t-shirt and by that time Casper had cooled down.
He held his phone and started checking the emails he had received trying to distract himself.
And Amelia turned on the water and tried to relax.
And as though she could watch the way through the memory of their kisses she had a feeling they had stayed with her all her life the this was the first time she had discovered such a depth of passion in herself that she literally had no control over emotion.
She shook her head. Okay, she did not have a proper career but she had to put any hopes of that on hold when her parents had been killed. Left with their properties which were in a total mess she had to fight against the government as they wanted to take everything away from them but thankfully her father had made such an arrangement that they could receive compensation every month. and later on, she became a muse of the designer and was backed by him for several years but at least it paid for her brother's university and also helped in helping the people who are in need around the Kingdom.
After taking and shower she paced around the room admiring the delicate exquisitely precise walls. His mother’s taste was very good as the furniture showed that she loved antique and unique things.
Her heart raced when someone tapped on the door. Raising herself she opened it and found Archie, his expression coolly not committal as he gave her a cryptic glance that encompassed her bare arms and throat.
“It's rather cold outside you might want to wear a cardigan or a shrug.”
“Oh, I nearly forgot about it as it's quite warm in this room, wait for a second, I'll get one,” she said wishing she had thought about it herself.
Collecting a light shrug, she caught her full length in the mirror and observed that after being kissed by Archie, she had somehow turned into a different person.
Neither she nor Archie wanted a drink before dinner so they went straight to have their meal. The woman who brought in the dishes was introduced as Kathy Simpson the housekeeper, she was in her mid-forties, she had a pleasant smile and walked briskly around the room and smiled heartily and Amelia liked her immediately.
But the best part was that she was a brilliant cook. Suddenly feeling very hungry Amelia helped herself to the grilled salads with bacon and salads which was totally mouthwatering.
“It's one of my favorites,” Archie said. “And I noticed you enjoyed bacon at the dinner on the wedding day so I assumed you would like this.”
After one mouthful she said enthusiastically as she was happy that Archie had observed her so thoroughly during the wedding.” this is very delicious is this the specialty of the mountain Kingdom?”
“I don't know where Kathy found the recipe or if she made it up. Ask her when she comes back. one of these days I am probably going to lose her to a good restaurant but in the meantime, she seems content enough to stay here while her children are young. Her husband is the manager of my farm.”
“You have a farm?” Amelia inquired curiously.
“Yes and we rear different kinds of cattle in it, one of these days when I'm free I will take you around to have a look at it,” Archie said enthusiastically.
Grateful for the neutral subject Amelia asks questions diligently while she ate enjoying the sound of his voice the sight of his lean tanned hands across the table, the warmth from the flames in the fireplace, and the silence of the darkening countryside.
