The Alpha and His Cursed Princess

Chapter 7

“Mom….” Beatrice ran towards her mother feeling wronged and her wolf was furious.

After Beatrice had turned eighteen she had found out that her mate was none other than Lucas Alexandra whom she had adored since was a teenager as Lucas’s father was the alpha of their pack then and her dad being his beta was very close to him so they spent most of their holidays at his home because his dad would always invite them and treated them as their family.

She was so excited when she came to know that he was her mate but when she was about to tell him he had vanished. She was heartbroken but her wolf Noemi told her that maybe Lucas was not ready yet and she needs to give him time and Noemi was not ready to give up.

She had not seen him for almost a year and realized that he had become more handsome and when she saw him talking to Noel, Noemi wanted to go ahead and beat him but Beatrice had closed her eyes and did nor allow her to take over, making her promise that she would not do anything to embarrass Lucas but when she reached him, she lost her senses and kissed him instead and before she could apologize he ran away from her.

“What's wrong Beatrice? Why are you looking so sad, sweetheart?” Annette her mother asked her with concern.

Beatrice went and embraced her and hugged her tightly.

Annette was worried as she thought Beatrice would enjoy the wedding banquet so she had forced her to come with her as her husband was out of the station. But did not expect her to be saddened by something. She looked around the ballroom and tried to search for a reason for her to be upset and once her eyes landed on Lucas Alexandra she knew that he was the reason.

Annette shook her head helplessly and smiled.

“Oh, so Lucas is back !”

Beatrice stiffened and nodded her head.

“And?” Her mother probed.

“He ignored me, mom,” Beatrice said and tears flowed down her cheeks.

“Beatrice, I think we have already talked about this, you need to give Lucas more time he has a lot of responsibility, and you if you pester him, he won't like it. You know about his parent’s rights and also about Amelia. If you love him, you need to wait patiently for him to come to you by himself or you will make him run away from you.” Annette tried to reason with Beatrice. “Your dad trusts him and he is sure Lucas won’t abandon you.”

“All right mom, I will listen to you but can you ask him to dance with me please…..” She urged her mother.

Annette looked at her daughter who was madly in love and said.” All right just wait I will just finish my conversation with Harry’s mother and then talk to Lucas.

Beatrice smiled shyly ad nodded her head.

Lucas saw her sister gesturing him to come towards her so he walked casually smiling at her and was thankful for the interruption or he would had to confront Beatrice. 

“Lucas, how are you?” Archie shook hands with him and both of them acknowledged each other with a smirk as whenever they met their wolves would get over-excited, it seems they liked each other, and Lucas and Archie were highly amused.

And finally, they even ended up hugging each other as lost buddies and Amelia stared at them with disbelief.

“I am good Archie…good to see you, man,” Lucas said.

“Likewise,” Archie murmured.

Amelia was stunned because as far as she knew Lucas had met Archie just once at Harry’s engagement but now they were meeting like old friends.

Little did she know that Lucas had his secrets and so did Archie.

“So why did you call me Amy?” Lucas pulled her out of her musings all of a sudden.

Amelia looked at Archie.

When Archie casually mentioned his suggestion Luca responded with his usual enthusiasm. “Of course you must go, Amelia.”

“This invitation is for you as well Lucas,” Archie said pleasantly.

For a second excitement lit up in Lucas’s mobile face, and faded instantly. He glanced at Amelia before saying, “I wish I could, but you know I have my studies and my exams are about to come so I can't take a break,” he said spreading his hands and finished vaguely.

Archie said. “I believe you are interested in mountain climbing.”

“Well, yes,” Lucas answered eagerly which was a sharp contrast to his previous tone.

“My friends are going trekking to Kjolen mountains and if you are interested I can get you a line with their group. They are professional and you will get to learn a lot of things I am sure you will enjoy it.” Archie said it with hidden meaning and Lucas's look of extreme longing increased almost comically when Archie added.

"They would be trekking for a fortnight with many ongoing adventures on the way.”

Amelia said quickly. “Lucas you were always interested in mountain climbing I think you should try it.”

“ Amelia......”

But his protest was overridden by Archie’s voice.

“So what are your qualifications, and where have you climbed before?”

Lucas cleared his throat and gave him a rundown about his achievements without a seconds pause, and as he listened to him with great enthusiasm and finally when he was finished Archie said. ” that's amazing you are already a pro.” he looked at Amelia and added with a smile that held more of a ting of irony. “And, just to reassure your anxious sister, people who are going for trekking are very responsible and expert climbers and I am sure you are sensible enough to allow Lucas two to go on his own,” Lucas mentioned the name of a family famed for his exploration of the mountains and the subsequent prize winning television programs.

“I am a careful climber so Amy shouldn't have to worry about it,” Lucas said forgetting that he had refused the trip he flashed an indigent glance at his sister. “You know that Amelia don't you?”

She blinked. she had to learn to strive since her parent's death, so she was startled by the way Archie had taken control of the situation and it made her feel the ground had been cut from her under her feet.

“Of course you are,” She said, but you have to get there by yourself as we cannot possibly impose ourselves on Archie.”

Archie cut her short. “” Lucas won't be imposing my friends and it won't be a trouble” he glanced at the man beside him. “You will probably have to work your passage.”

Lucas was very happy and said cheerfully. “That won't be a problem I can manage.”

Looking at Amelia Archie said casually. “I'll be leaving tomorrow morning please stop let me know when you have made up your mind. And now if you will excuse me I better go and see whether my brother-in-law needs me to see to anything.”

After Archie left Lucas smiled and a wicked gleam appeared in his eyes.

"Well, seems your is finally working. But I somehow don't like the idea of Amelia going to Denmark." Eric pointed out.

Lucas shook his head helplessly and said. " I know buddy but we need to move her to a safer place as she is not safe here and in Archie's territory she will be safe and something tells me that he is interested in her."

"Lucas have you forgotten that Archie is an alpha and Amelia is just a normal human being.." Eric reminded him.

"Well, we will see but for now Archie is the best option to keep her safe. So let her go." Archie said and suddenly there was a frown on his face as he could sense someone approaching them.
