Chapter 5Cailean and Gerulf made love again Thursday morning before getting ready to face the day and what Cailean wanted and feared—seeing his father, again. The plan as Gerulf had outlined it was to drive five miles from town along a two-lane highway, and then another two miles to the end of a dirt road where they would have to leave the car. From there, he’d told Cailean, they would hike approximately three miles to the edge of Blackmont Ridge. At that point they’d be close enough for him to teleport them into Ulfric’s house. “Breakfast,” Gerulf said firmly when they were in the car. “I’m too nervous to eat,” Cailean protested. “I’m starving, so deal. You can have coffee.” “All right, I guess.” Cailean smiled weakly. “It’s going to be fine, I promise.” Gerulf squeezed his leg. “Pu
