Chapter 9

Pulling the blanket off of my chest, I stretched out across the grass and opened my eyes slowly. I noticed the blanket was Leon’s and realised he must have put it on me when he woke up. I rubbed my eyes and sat up. Where is everyone? I looked around my surroundings and saw that the car had been unpacked. I stood to my feet and saw a couple of tents that had be pitched at the bottom of the hill. I smiled to myself and made my way down to find Leon.  Leonardo walked over to the pile of logs and placed some dry leaves amongst them. As soon as he managed to light it, he looked up and noticed me standing there watching him. “Hey, you okay hermosa?” He asked and I grinned at him, nodding my head to reply. “Why were you outside the car by yourself?” He asked, a hint of concern slightly showing in his tone.  “I couldn’t get comfy in the car” I explained. He pressed his lips together and stood to his feet, making his way towards me slowly. As he towered over me, he cupped my cheek with his hand and kissed my lips. I closed my eyes as the explosive sensations that were shooting through my body woke me up completely. I wrapped my arms around his neck to hold him closer and I could feel the tension growing between us.  “Get a tent you two!” Carlos joked, walking back from taking a dip in the lake with Charlotte. We separated slowly and both flashed him the look of annoyance, to which Carlos just laughed. “Maria, will you join me by the lake? I thought we could have some girly time before Leonardo gets his claws into you” she smiled. I nodded and replied “sure”. Leon’s eyes rolled at her sarcasm and I followed her down to the lake.  “Wow, it’s beautiful” I said staring at the scenery in awe. The lake was crystal clear with an averaged size waterfall, dropping down over the ledge of the hill. The green grass covered the surrounding area and there was a short peer that travelled over a small portion of the water. There was already two chairs that were set up on the peer with a blanket underneath. We headed over and took a seat. “I love coming out here, it’s so peaceful and relaxing” she admitted. I hummed as I allowed the sun rays to infect my skin. I took my shirt off and sat in my bikini and denim shorts. Closing my eyes to enjoy the warmth that hit my skin, Charlotte doing the same. “You know, I’ve never actually seen Leon like this before” she began, causing me to open my eyes and look at her. “What do you mean?” I asked. “He’s never brought any girl up here, he always talks about you and seems completely relaxed when he is with you” she grinned and I couldn’t help but blush at her confession. “I’m glad, he’s so different to every other guy I’ve met. He’s kind and respectful, yet dangerous and exciting”. I couldn’t help but talk truthfully to Charlotte. She has a way about her that makes me feel as though I can talk to her about anything. She smiled at my kind words, but then her expression turned serious. “Just don’t underestimate him” she warned, causing me to sit up straight in my chair. “What?” I questioned her. “When it comes to the people he loves, he will do anything to protect them. He would kill if he has to. There’s a side to him that everyone else sees. This side he shows you, it’s...” she hesitated and then decided not to finish her sentence. “It’s what?” I pressed and she sighed. “When he’s with the crew, he’s completely different. He’s had to do some pretty bad things to get information out of people. I’m worried that he hasn’t shown you that side of him yet and I don’t want it to scare you off” she admitted finally. I was pretty taken back by what she was saying, but I knew that he had another side to him. He told me about his past and that he lives a dangerous life. So why was this bothering me? He is so sweet and caring towards me that I couldn’t imagine him hurting someone else. “He has warned me about the darker side to him” I explained and Charlotte raised the corner of her mouth into a half smile. “Has he told you about the incident about a month ago?” She asked. I scrunched my face and shook my head.  “What happened?” I asked and she seemed to feel slightly guilty for saying anything. “He should be the one to talk to you about it, I’ve said too much” she gritted her teeth. “Charlotte, you can’t say that to me and then hide the rest of the story” I growled, desperate to know what had happened. I didn’t want to asked Leon because he always gets a bit funny whenever I talk about his mafia life, or his private life in general. She glanced at me, sighing and leaning towards me. “Honestly, I’ve said too much as it is. You’ll have to speak to him about it” she said. “Speak to me about what?” Leon asked, overhearing the ending of Charlotte’s sentence. We gasped and turned our attention to him standing behind us with Carlos. The colour drained from Charlotte’s face but I tried to act normal. “Nothing important, we can talk about it later” I tried to dismiss. I could tell that Leon wasn’t buying it but he didn’t pressure into confessing. Carlos walked over to Charlotte and took her hand to guide her into the woods for some alone time. Leon sat down where she was sitting and lifted his shirt over his head, revealing his beautifully sculptured body. His muscles were thicker than I remembered and his tattoos screamed danger. I could feel myself getting wet as I scanned his torso with my eyes. “Thank you for coming with us hermosa, I’m really glad you’re here” he gently said in his seductive accent. I blushed and replied “thank you for inviting me”. I continued admiring his gorgeous physique and then turned my attention to crystal clear lake.  “Wanna go for a swim?” He asked me and I shook my head. “It’s probably freezing” I used as an excuse. “You’d be surprised” he smirked. I saw a mischievous glint in eye for a split second and my mouth dropped opened. “Don’t you even think about it!” I warned him, but he completely ignored me and stood up. He paced towards me and threw me over his shoulder playfully. “Leon, no!” I yelled and he chuckled as I kicked my legs to try and free myself. Without a seconds hesitation, he jogged towards the edge of peer with my body hunched over his shoulder.  “Leon!” I screamed and he leaped off of the side. I took in a deep breath and braced myself to be hit by the extreme cold of the water. With a big splash, we were descending deeper, bubbles surrounding our bodies and he let go of me. He was right, it wasn’t really that cold.  I opened my eyes to him smiling underneath the surface at me. Once we emerged I gasped for air. “Idiota” I yelled flirtatiously. Leon swam closer to me and grinned. “What did you just call me?” He growled, looking down at me with water droplets rolling down his cheeks. He ran his fingers through his sopping hair to move it out of his face and then wrapped his arms around my waist. “Idiota” I repeated playfully. He placed his mouth next to my ear and breathed against it.  “You’re going to regret that señorita”. The intensity of his words sent chills through my body, turning me on and causing me to shudder. I kissed his lips forcefully, occasionally dipping my tongue into his mouth. He groaned with frustration and I could feel his length harden against my groin. I wrapped my legs around him, rubbing myself against it. His grip tightened on my waist, building with aggression. He pulled away, sucking at my bottom lip and moaned. “Te de seo” he whispered against my skin. Without me asking him what it meant, he repeated it in English. “I want you”. I smirked at him and gazed deeply into his dark brown eyes. “Then take me” I replied softly and he moved back and shook his head. I was confused for a moment, why did he stop? “I thought you were the kind of guy to take what he wants?” I sarcastically reminded him and he just grinned. “Don’t worry maravillosa (gorgeous), I’ll take you tonight when everyone is asleep” he growled.
