I was alarmed when Kane and I woke up the next morning. We slept for over eight hours! While we were on a mission. That was unacceptable. Trying not to waste any more time, Kane and I cleaned up at a nearby stream, ate some half-assed breakfast, and packed.
When we were ready to go, Felix and Vira stood in our way.
The animals projected an image of a path between the trees into my mind.
“They want us to follow them,” I said.
Kane frowned. “Right now? We should be following the flower’s call?”
“I know, but …” I paused, waiting for the animals to tell me something else. They didn’t. “I think it’s about the flower.
