"Lucas, how are your recommendations for a personal assistant for me going?" Damien spoke into the phone, with an exhausted tone.
The work had been clamping down on him at the same time he could not get this Celine girl out of his mind he had even gone back to the club and asked the bartender there. The man had no clue who she was either and he claimed to have not seen her since that day.
He had been getting very frustrated. But fate had smiled on him.
"Why not put up a notice for one yourself man. You were not satisfied with all the ladies I got you, I even recommended some male assistants, you know, in case it was just the gender that was the problem. You constantly find fault in every single one of them. Honestly I do not know what to do for you again. I am really trying not to get pissed of here."
"Fine, forget the search for the personal assistant. I was looking for a file on account of the sales of one of my companies this morning, and I knocked the file that my mother gave me on another woman she wishes for me to marry. The picture in the file was the picture of the lady I met at the club. The file says her name is Celine Fayet. It matches up perfectly with the little I already know of her. I need to be able to get close to her and find out more about her and why she wants to marry me. To do that I not let her know I am aware of her intentions. My mother said she used to work as a market researcher and her file says she has a degree in statistics and business administration." A smile grew on Damien's face as he spoke to Lucas on the phone.
"So why the hell are you telling me this?" Lucas asked. Damien could already imagine the confusion on his friend's face.
"I want you to search for her contact and hire her to be my personal assistant," Damien said firmly.
He had thought of the plan the moment his hands fell on that precious file hidden away amongst the clusters of files on his desk. For the first time in a long time, he was actually grateful for the publication his mother put up in the tabloids in search of a bride for him. He would have never found Celine, the angel tormenting his dreams if not for that.
Though he was still muddled as to why she wanted to marry him, he just had to find her.
No wonder she recognized him that night in the club. His memories were a bit jumbled, but he did remember her asking if he knew her.
If he wasn't jumping into conclusions, he would say she thought he had already gone through the potential bride file on his desk, because she presumed he knew her too.
Was that encounter a mere coincidence, he wouldn't be able to tell. It wasn't like he frequented that club often. A planned meet up would have gone wrong.
Except she had been stalking him. Could she?
"Earth to Damien! Earth to Damien!" Lucas screeched on the phone.
"Huh?" Damien responded. He had totally lost himself in thoughts of Celine.
This woman was going to be the end of him.
"I asked you a question and you just zoned out on me! What's wrong with you bro?"
"Nothing is wrong with me. Just help me get her contact and address if possible. I could have reached her myself but the file doesn't provide any personal information and I don't want to call my mother for it."
"Can you even hear yourself?" Lucas flared on the other end of the phone.
"Yeah," Damien slowly replied, narrowing his eyes in thoughts. He had no clue as to why his friend was getting so worked up about th e simple task.
"No man! I don't think you can. You want me to reach out to some woman and tell her she has gotten a job to be your assistant when she never applied for it. What do you think that will make me sound? Have you even considered if she wants the job or not? Have you thought about any of these or you are still lost in that s*x starved head of yours thinking about some red head with sea blue eyes?"
Damien was quiet for a while.
Lucas did have a point. He didn't consider Celine rejecting the offer.
"If she rejects it, offer her more money than the average salary." He added thoughtfully.
"You have gone crazy bro! And I can't believe I am even considering this!" Lucas said heaving a frustrated sigh.
"Thank you Lucas. I really owe you for this."
Deep in his heart, Damien truly meant it. He was grateful to Lucas for accepting to do all the crazy things he had asked him to do in the last two days. None of his other friends would have accepted to do it. Brian would have laughed it off as a sick joke and Charles would have told him to get married, putting an end to his celibate lifestyle.
"Do not thank me yet I haven't said I would do it." Lucas snapped.
"But your statement implied it," Damien said, relaxing into his office chair. He was confident Lucas was not going to deny him of this little favor.
"Fine. If I do this and we still don't get her on your bed, I am bringing ten strippers to your house. I can't keep dealing with this!" He said the last part almost to himself. He released another frustrated sigh before speaking again, "what's her name again?"
"Celine. Celine Feyet."
"Okay. I'll give you feedback soon."
"Okay." He hung up the phone and returned his eyes to the file in front of him.
