Lily gave a knowing grin and walked towards the Casting director, Leonard, with her head held high. Amy closed her eyes to calm her raging nerves as other actresses pointed at her, mocking her in their own way. With her eyes still closed, Amy chanted words of encouragement for herself.
This wasn't something new.
It just happens to sting every time.
Leonard's voice jolted Amy back to reality. He seemed to be extra attentive towards Lily, giving her pointers and correcting her whenever she was wrong. Amy rolled her eyes, her patience running thin. She just couldn't understand why the Entertainment industry had to be this dirty. Is it a crime to judge based on talents? Do they really have to be so biased?
Amy shook her head and focused on the casting director.
