“What are you saying?” I asked, hoping what I was hearing wasn't true. “Answer me!” I yelled, and immediately she fell to her knees.
“Lady Harper lost the baby,” she trembled with fear, causing my heart to cease in my chest.
“How is that possible?” I managed to ask.
“My king, she slipped on the floor.”
With a heavy sigh, I closed my eyes to control the anger bubbling in me. “Get out,” I demanded, and immediately, she stood up and ran out of my chambers.
Confused and in pain, I walked to the chair and sat on it as I began to ponder. This was the second miscarriage Lady Harper had experienced. As for Lady Cora, she has already given birth to two children, but they are all females.
