"Sean left already. Did you fight?" Dad said as he sits at the edge of my bed.
I inhaled deeply. Sean’s been waiting for me downstairs but I did not want to see him so I stopped myself from going out of my room. I don’t know how exactly did I go home, I don’t know why I’m still shaking. I don’t know why I’m so scared.
I know mom and dad are worried. They’ve been asking if I’m okay but I couldn’t say anything because I myself don’t know what is happening to me and why am I so scared. I want to tell them what happened but what sense would it make? I don’t want them to worry.
"Samantha please tell us what is happening, is something bothering you? You look so pale and so nervous. Did Sean do anything?"
I shook my head. “No dad, it’s not like that. I mean, I’m okay, I just don’t feel good but I’ll be fine.”
“How about Sean? Why aren’t you talking to him? He looks worried.”
I sighed, “I’ll probably just talk to him tomorrow mom.”
They looked satisfied hearing that. They know us too well when we have a problem or whatever and maybe they’ve been just too confident with Sean so they always want us to be okay.
Sean has been protective of me like a brother since we’re young so I guess my parents got used to it. It seems suspicious for them not to see us talking to each other at times like this.
“By the way, Kim called a while ago. She asked if you can go for an overnight at their place tonight. You can go Samantha, so you can forget what’s bothering you now.” Mom said.
“Sean’s probably gonna be there too so whatever your quarrel is, you two should fix it alright? You’re both old enough to argue over petty things and one more thing, you are childhood friends so you should not let little things ruin your friendship.”
I sighed before nodding. Dad kissed my forehead before they went out of my room. They talk like it’s not about the friendship anymore and I hate it.
I packed my clothes on my bag prepared to leave. Dad gave me a ride to Kim’s place.
I think this overnight with them is just on time but it’s not because I want to patch things between me and Sean. I really think I need someone to tell what happened a while ago and I know Kim’s willing to listen.
Kim and Dylan were waiting for us outside their house. Dad stopped the car infront of them before he went down to open the door for me.
"Hi tito!" Dylan greeted him.
"Oh Dylan, you're here." He pats his head and pinched Kim's cheek.
"You take care of this girl okay?" Dad said as he give Dylan my backpack.
Dylan nodded and grinned. They had a small talk before dad decided to go home since mom's left there alone.
"Where's Sean? I was expecting you two will go together,"
I shrugged, “I haven't seen him after what happened at the canteen.”
“Speaking of what happened, I didn't know his current girlfriend's Nicaseane. It has only been a while since that girl showed him some interest.” Kim said.
I rolled my eyes heavenward, “Kim, I'm sure you know what kind of guy Sean is, and what kind of girl that Nicaseane is.”
Dylan chuckled behind us. We looked at him and he just waggled his eyebrows. I rolled my eyes at him.
"You both suck,"
He shrugged, “You can't blame us Samantha. The girl says she likes me then I move. We're just human my dear cousin, we all get tempted at times.” He placed his arm around my shoulders to even tease me.
"You get tempted at ll times Dylan," I shrugged his arm off me. "You're a flirt, just admit it."
He faked that I hurt but we didn't mind him. I greeted Kim's parents when we got inside their house. They're busy preparing the food so we didn't talk that much. We went to our room on the second floor of the house.
We always do overnight stay and camp on this place that's why we have a room for girls and boys. Each room's complete with beddings, toiletries and everything else we might need.
Dylan walked us to our room and then left when I took my bag from him. I murmured my thanks.
“Is Sean invited?” I asked even though I know he's obviously invited. Kim doesn't know what's happening to the both of us. I just hope he won't come.
My shoulders fell when she answered excitedly, “Ofcourse! I called him right after I called you and when I confirmed you're coming he automatically said yes.” She smiled at me meaningfully.
"Don't give me that look Kim Scofield," I sat on the bed and started scrolling on my f*******:.
"What?" she laughed as she sits beside me, "What's really with you two?"
“We’re bestfriends.”
I was startled when Dylan whistled from the door, so he's there?
“Bestfriends who will eventually turn to lovers soon.”
I throwed him a pillow but he was able to catch it, "You wish."
He chuckled, "Oh really Sam." He grinned at me.
“Hi guys!” Armie suddenly appeared at the door with Xian. We stared at them buffering, we didn't expect them to be here now.
“Oh my gosh! I thought your flight's next week?!” Kim jumped at Armie.
Armie shrugged, “Well, we heard that you’re throwing up a party so we decided to leave early.”
“Really?!” Kim's so happy and I know why. Well, she likes Xian eversince. But I know she's happy that Armie's here as well. We haven't been complete for quite a long time.
I nodded at Xian and walked towards Armie to give her a hug.
“Who picked you up from the airport?" I asked her.
"I brought my car," Xian showed us his carkeys.
"Oh what a rich dude!" Dylan throwed him the pillow I throwed him.
Armie suddenly started talking to Xian using their language so the rest of us fell in silence staring at the two of them.
Bthe way, her real name is Lee Hye Mi, she’s Seije’s cousin, Tito Third and Tita Reen's daughter. And the guy with her is Xian Ekelund, Tita Aubrey and Tito Kysler's son. They both resides in Korea but they travel her from time to time to visit us.
“Where’s Sean?” I rolled my eyes when they started looking for Sean from me again.
“They had a lover's quarrel dude, don't ask her." Dylan started teasing me again.
Xian looked at me waiting for me to second Dylan but I just scoffed. He laughed at my reaction.
“Improving little Sam.”
“Easy there, I ain’t tiny.”
He shrugged, “To me, you are.” He even winked.
I rolled my eyes and turned to Kim who I caught staring at Xian.
“Relax, he’s not my type.” I whispered near her ear.
“I'm not even saying anything,” she avoided my gaze.
“You are so transparent Kimmy, you have to work out with that.” I pinched her cheek before I went to Armie.
“Hi Arm!”
Hi Sammy, where’s Sean?”
Really? Why is he not here anyway so these people would stop asking me anymore.
“I kind of miss that monster,” She seems oblivious of my reaction.
“Well, I missed you too my dear cousin.” I don't have to confirm who it is because I know his voice very well.
Finally he's here. Everyone would probably stop asking me right?
Armie ran to him for a hug, “Sean-ssi!”
“Who’s Lambo is that?” He pointed at the car parked outside. He looked at Xian and immediately knew it was his.
“Nice one dude,” they nodded at each other.
“Why are you late?" Armie asked him.
"I had to run some errands," he smiled.
"I thought you're here when I saw Sam, how come you didn't come together?"
Oh God, really Armie? Now everyone's looking at me. I saw Dylan's familiar evil smile and I just want to slit his throat. Xian's smirking at the side too.
“He had to run to his girlfriend that's why he's late.” Dylan said that made Sean glare at him. I slowly feel uncomfortable.
“Date? Got a girlfriend? I want to meet her.”
"Armie you're so talkative! Come here let's have some girl's talk. And you boys, get out of here. You have your own room." Kim pulled Armie and made her sit on the bed.
The boys left our room with Dylan laughing his ass out like he did something that really made him happy. He's such a devil.
We spent the rest of the time talking about Armie's life in Korea and our lives here. Soon enough, Tita Claire, Kim's mom called us for dinner.
“I prepared all of these so you should eat a lot okay?” Tita Claire happily served us our dinner. She really loves doing this, cooking for us and making our stay comfortable as always.
“Thank you tita!”
We started eating while chatting. Kim's seated on my right while Armie's on my left. The three guys are infront of us. I cursed silently when I saw Sean watching me. I hissed, he shouldn't have sat infront of me, such an asshole.
I avoided his gaze so I won't get uncomfortable but as the minutes pass by, I grew tired of all his attention so I stood up. Everyone looked at me.
“I’ll just take a walk,” f**k I need air.
“What walk? It's late in the evening Samantha,” Dylan warned me, his blood as my cousin arising.
I didn't mind him though. I just want some fresh air, and the atmosphere here is not giving me that so I'll go for a walk outside.
I stomped my feet when I got out of the gate. I shouldn't have come here if I knew he's going. I can't take this irritation anymore, I want to lash out.
I don't why I'm so irritated after hearing that he ran for her girlfriend that's why he's late. I want to use that reason for us going here separately but I know he stayed and waited at hom and I didn't talk to him. I combed my hair in frustration. He shouldn't have come here. He should have stayed with his girlfriend for the whole night since he already have his condo unit, he can bring all the girls on his place.
I placed my hands inside the pocket of my hoodie and started to walk at the silent street alone.
But just after a few steps, I heard the gate open and close again. I immediately knew what's gonna happen.
"Sam."
