Kiara's Point Of View Watching Caleb walk out of the room made my heart sink. I felt so bad for him and couldn't imagine what he was going through. Finding out Logan was cheating on me was hard, but I couldn't fathom finding out your spouse was doing what Ashley was doing. "I am going to go ahead and get the papers ready for him. Give me about ten minutes," Mr. Smith said. I sat there for a few minutes, stood up, and left the office. I walked around the office and didn't see Caleb but his truck was still there. I found the bathroom and knocked on the door. "Give me a minute," I heard Caleb say, and I walked in. Caleb was hunched over the toilet, and I walked over to him and squatted down. Then, I began to rub his back. "I'm sorry, Caleb, you are going through this, but it will all work out." Caleb looked at me, and he had tears in his eyes and said, "I loved her, and this is what she did to me. I would have given her the world, but instead, she was a liar. So how the hell do you move on from that?" He said with emotions lacing his voice. "You keep moving forward, and one day, you will find that person who will touch your soul so deeply that you know they are the one." "I'm not sure I can trust anyone else with my heart." I knew how that felt. I didn't want to let anyone else in. I can hardly think about dating anyone else after Logan cheated on me. How the hell do you trust someone else? And here is a man who is dealing with a woman who lied about everything. I have no clue how the hell you bounce back from that. "It will take time," I said. Caleb and I sat in the bathroom for a while in silence. "Mr. Smith was drawing up the papers, and he said they should be done in ten. I am sure they are done." "Okay. Thanks for being here, Kiara," Caleb said as he stood up. I left the bathroom so he could have some privacy and walked back to the office. I watched as Caleb signed the papers, and then when the sheriff arrived, we spoke to him. Since I had bruises on my arm that wrapped around me, the sheriff decided he wanted to investigate this because this isn't the first report against Steve. Caleb was silent the whole way home, and when he dropped me off, he told me he was sorry about today, but I just hugged him. I couldn't imagine the pain he was in. I walked into the house and was greeted by the smell of chili cooking and Ava at the stove. "It smells so good," I said as I walked in. My stomach started to rumble. Ava turned around and looked at me. "So, how was your time with Caleb." "Huh, it was a mini rollercoaster. I feel bad for the guy." The smile on Ava's face fell, and she said, "What happened." I explained to her what had happened and she was angry. "That lying, two-face, good for nothing w***e," She shouted when I was done talking. "What the hell," Tyler said as he walked. Ava explained to Tyler what had happened as we all sat down to eat chili. "At this point, nothing surprises me when it comes to that woman. I hope that he gets an STD test and the divorce goes through quickly." Once we all agreed that Caleb should get tested, Tyler changed the topic, and we finished our lunch laughing and having a wonderful conversation about the rooster trying to attack the new hire, Drake. Since Tyler had the rest of the day off, he decided to take Ava out, and I went up to my room to call my parents. "Hello," My mom said as she answered the phone. "Hey, mom." "Kiara, how are you?" "Good. How are things there?" "Okay. Logan has sent you so many flowers I am starting to hand them out," She said as she began to chuckle. "No amount of flowers are going to make me run back to him." "I know, honey." My mom and I talked for about an hour, and when we were done, I decided to take a nap. Caleb's Point Of View After dropping Kiara off, I called my doctor's office, and tomorrow I get an STD test. I never thought I would have to do that. Yes, I was a player before Ashley, but I was careful. Before we got married, Ashley and I decided we would try and have a baby, so I stopped using condoms, and she stopped taking her birth control. Thank god she never got pregnant. Tyler asked to have the afternoon off to take Ava out one last time before the baby came, and I am covering his shift. I worked until eleven at night and drove to my parent's house. Even though I own a home on the ranch, I prefer to stay with my parents. The house I have is beautiful and was built for Ashley and me, but I don't want it. So I told dad to let Levi, Dylan, or one of the ranch hands have it. When I got to the house, it was dead silent. My parents are usually in bed early since dad starts working around five or six most days. As I walked through the house to my room, I noticed the office light on and knocked on the door. "Come in," I heard my dad say. I opened the door and walked in. "Hey, dad." "What's up?" My dad asked as he looked up from the paperwork he was doing. I sat down in the empty chair in front of his desk and said, "I filed for my divorce today." "I thought you couldn't." For the next couple of minutes, I explained what happened and how I was able to file for a divorce. "How do you feel about this? And please tell me you plan to get STD tested." "I go in tomorrow before I start working." " "Good. Now how do you feel about everything going on?" "I just want it over. I'm not sure I can ever move on, but I'll be happy to have her out of my life." "No one ever said life is easy, but one day, I have faith you will move on and find your happiness." My father and I talked for a little bit, and then I went to bed.
