I quickly turned to Hailey, panic-stricken, and whispered, "Close the door, hurry!"
Hailey reacted immediately, pressing the elevator's close button frantically. The men called out, "Hold on!"
My heart pounded as I stared at the elevator doors.
Just as they were about to reach us, the doors shut, and the elevator began its descent. I heard someone frantically pressing the button and a furious shout, "Damn it, I told them to wait! Stupid bitches!"
As the elevator descended rapidly, I leaned weakly against the wall, exhaling a shaky breath.
"Who was it? Who did you see?" Hailey asked, steadying me. "You're white as a sheet!"
"Ryan Davis!" I gasped, still shaken. "Aidan's brother!"
"Holy crap!" Hailey exclaimed, equally startled. "Why him? That was too close!"
