Just as Cathy finished preparing dinner, Alex wet his pants. Cathy took him upstairs to change, and I seized the opportunity to add more salt to the boiled shrimp and mix the sedative into her water cup. My heart pounded with nerves because I had never done such a thing before. Trying to appear casual, I started eating. When Cathy returned, I casually remarked, "The shrimp is a bit salty." Cathy gave me a skeptical look, took a shrimp, and tasted it. "Maybe I didn't stir it well," she muttered guiltily.
