Chapter One- Two more days
Everyone was counting down the days till winter break. Teachers were having a hard time keeping student's focus on their work. It seemed that the closer winter break came, the more and more students would think about what they would do during Christmas. Most of the boys thought of was being able to sleep in and not have to worry about school work. The girl's thought about their New Year kiss. Even at Hamilton Academy the students would turn into greedy children, wondering what they would get for Christmas.
"Two more days and no more school work."
"You said it, Sean."
"You two are predicable," Erica said putting her hands on her hips. Looking at her brother and his best friend. It was the reason they got along, since neither of them liked school work. "Besides, me and Samuel were going to go to his house for a few days, then a few days at ours."
"And Samuel agreed?"
"As long as we can spend time with my family, I don't care," Samuel said from his seat behind Jonathan. "Besides my parents like you, Erica. They've wanted you to come over for a bit."
"You are whipped, Samuel," Sean said while running his hand through his brown hair. "Then again, I think Erica has always had you around her fingers."
"And this is what my cousin's boyfriend does besides sleeping in class," Azul said turning around in her seat. Most of them had been in the same class for years, but she couldn't help, but tease him. "I think Lucia would like to know about this."
"Azul, loosen up," Sean said while putting his tanned arms in the air. "Besides I'm not the one who sleeps in class, that's Samuel."
"I know. Besides are you going to the Bolton families Christmas gathering?"
"Yes, father made it point that we had to go, since he'll be away. Meanie isn't happy about it, but I can only hope Maryjane goes that way she enjoys herself somewhat," Erica said sitting on Samuel's table, it was lunch and the teacher really didn't care what they did, as long as they behaved themselves and didn't destroy anything.
"I doubt it," Azul said while looking at her jeans, making sure there wasn't any dirt or dust on them. "She doesn't go to personal parties, in fact she only goes to mandatory school events."
"That's true. I've invited her over to my house like a million times and she's never gone," Sean told them. "Well, since she's transferred."
"What are you talking about?" a female asked. Her blonde hair in a low pony tail as she walked over, another blonde girl behind her. Both of them wearing high end dresses.
"About Maryjane and her anti-social behaviour, Amy and Teagan."
"Big words Sean, is Lucia making you study?" Amy asked. Both she and Teagan grabbed a chair and joined the group. Usually they were the only ones in the classroom and they still were. "But seriously. Maryjane is just a bit shy, besides she gets A/B average. So she must study a lot."
"True, but she still doesn't go to a lot of social events," Azul told them, her reddish brown hair falling into her eye, before she pushed it back behind her black head bane.
"I've never noticed, then again, when I go to them I'm usually with either Teagan or Kyle."
"Noticed what?"
"Maryjane!" Amy and Teagan shouted. For someone who could trip on thin air, she was surprisingly good at sneaking up on people.
"I'm right here. What's with all the yelling?"
"We're talking about the Bolton gala. We were wondering if you were going to go?" Erica asked looking at the small raven. "I'm sure Meanie would be happy if you did."
"I'm not going to be here for the holidays," Maryjane said while pulling her hair out of its high pony tail. She had biology last and she didn't want her hair to get in the way. "Tell Meanie, I'm sorry that I couldn't go."
"You'll be going to the New Year's Eve party. Right?" Alice asked.
"I don't think we'll be back by then."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm sure. However I need to find Mr Jacob before he leaves. I need some help with my English paper," Maryjane said her icy blue eyes widening before she ran out of the classroom, looking for said English teacher.
"Is it me or is Maryjane acting weirder than normal?" Sean asked looking at the group around him, all of them nodded at his question.

"Thanks Mr Jacob," Maryjane said as she finished her last paper, she had her biology on, but there wasn't much she could do about that. "For lending me your laptop, so I could finish my papers... well, expect for biology. Mr Osvaldo hasn't told us the topic, so I can't get started."
"I understand Jane," Mr Jacob said a smile on his tanned face. Maryjane has always liked her English teacher, since he was the only teacher to really now her situation attending the school on a scholarship. Being an orphan himself was the key reason he started helping her, but now he just did it, because she was a good person with her head on her shoulders.
"Thanks. What are you doing during the winter break?"
"Planning for next semester."
"No, what are you and Mr Anderson doing over the Winter break?"
"Nothing!"
"You sure?"
"It's getting dark. Jane it's Andre when school's over," Andre said while pointing to the window. "I'll drive you home, after we print off your papers."
"You don't have to," Maryjane said while printing her papers. "I can catch the bus. Tomorrow I'll bring my bike. It's only two days, I think I can afford the gas."
"That's a good idea, but let me drive you home. Jane I don't want anything happening to you."
"Fine."
