It's Halloween night and Quinn is forced to take her brothers and cousin for trick a treating, but she has to drag on of her brothers and cousin out of the old Shapa (cursed) house at the end of the block, which has been left alone for one hundred and fifty years, but she hopes that she doesn't run into the old witch that lives there and her fox. -- Chapter One- Old House It's Halloween and Quinn is fourteen years old. Out getting candy from strangers with her younger brothers and sister, along with two of her cousins. As they walk down the street and then, because both Quinn and Chase are fourteen, while Demarion and Maliah are thirteen, they can take Arturo and Janiya outside the block they live on to get even more candy. It is as the group made their way down the end of a long street, filled with old Victorian styled houses, that Janiya takes her hand and squeezes it. Quinn looks at her and blinks at her sister childish brown eyes and her costume of a fairy she doesn't remember the name for. Arturo takes Maliah's hand, his costume was that of a superhero, she again couldn't name. However, neither Janiya nor Arturo don't try to take Demarion's hand, since he's going through a stage where he finds both of them uncool. "What's wrong?" Quinn asked Janiya with a frown on her face, as her light brown hair goes in her face. They pause at the end of the street and Arturo points at the house there in front of. The front lawn of over grown with weeds and the windows look broken. The house looked like it hasn't been lived in for years. "Arturo? Janiya?" The two nine year olds look at each other. Janiya points at Arturo and her brother does the same, but he gulps. "That's the old Shapa house," he said and Quinn closes her eyes and wants to sigh as Chase rolled his eyes, the two thirteen year olds grin and look at with interest. "Jack went on about it, saying that his older brother went in there last Halloween and saw the witch's familiar and that it tried to eat them." The Shapa's house has been left along for one hundred and fifty years, since the sudden death of the family. It was never spoken of and somehow, over the years people had said that it was the oldest daughter who did it. That she was a witch, who turned on them and used them in a spell that had backfired and killed her as well. That she know haunted the house with her fox and killed anyone who entered. And of course everyone bragged about seeing the oldest Shapa daughter and her fox. It was the biggest legend that their small down had after all. Quinn knew it, but she didn't believe it. Both Demarion and Maliah scoffed and snorted at their Arturo's words. They knew Jack's older brother, Milo, and knew that the boy would never enter that house. "Milo is a scaredy cat. Like he went near this house, not alone went into it," Maliah said rolling her green coloured eyes and looked as peeved as only a thirteen year old could. Demarion nods and Quinn knows something bad is going to happen, because her brother and cousin are looking at each other. Maliah lets go of Arturo's hands and looks Demarion straight in the eyes. "Last one to the house and into it, is a chicken and gets half of the others person's candy." Demarion only smiled at her as the two of them dropped their pillowcases of candy, both of them taking their flashlights out. "Don't you dare!" Quinn says but it's too late, since the two of them are shaking each other's hands and then the two of them are running into the yard. Going through the broken front door and Quinn knows she's going to get into trouble once she gets home, since both Janiya and Arturo are crying and both of them are upset, since they thought their older brother had put himself in danger along with their cousin. "Chase..." she says to her other cousin, looking at him with a pleading look and he nods and takes both of her younger siblings hands and talks to them, telling them that it's going to be okay. Quinn drop her own bag, before letting out a sigh and talking to the old house. Where she can faintly hear soft noises coming from inside. And she swears that she's going to back the two pay. Making her way past the fence and makes her way through the knee high grass, squinting in the light her flashlight gives her, she makes her way to the front door, where there is a fox lying on the porch. She remembers all the stories she heard about the house and froze, but it looked like it wasn't moving, but she take a step up to it, before bitting her lips. It's blocking the door and she had to get her stupid family members. "Uhm... excuse me, but my brother and cousin are the idiots who just ran inside and I'd really, really appreciate it if I could go in and get them," she said quickly cursing them under breath before continuing. "But you need to move, but if I could get them before they do something stupid and get into trouble." She fells stupid for talking to the 'demon fox' but one red eye opened and she's unnerved and she's really rather not have to touch it. But it's not running away, so her only option is to talk to and ask it to move out of the way. The fox tilts its head to the side and Quinn wonders if there's another entrance to the house, but then it stands up and moves away from the door. "Hurry up and get those two out if you must," it tells her with a quiet laugh. "Her patience is wearing thin." She looks around for the source of the voice, but looks at the red face with wide eyes as it's own red ones are filled with amusement. She gulps and starts to walk inside. Her flashlight is starting to flicker and Quinn can admit to herself that she is terrified as she walks down the hallway and up the first flight of stairs. She can hear a thump and some laughter coming further in front of her, but she continues making her way down the old hallway. "Hello?" she asked as the door slowly opened behind her and she creeps forward, trying to find the next flight of stairs. There is no answer, but the noises coming from upstairs have stopped. Her flashlight is flicker even more and then it dies. Quinn whimpered and the door to her right opens, violently. She yelps and drops her flashlight as a candle flickers to life inside the dark room and a few strands of her hair float behind her from the wind. Everything sounds muffled to her ears and she takes shaky steps forward, followed by another and then another one, then she's in that dark room lit by one white candle, standing on a window with a dark red curtain. "You're an i***t," a voice says from behind her and Quinn turns around and more candle's flicker to life around the room. There is a girl standing in front of the door now. She doesn't look that much older then herself, maybe two or three years and she is barefoot, with dark hair that blends into her surroundings and a plain white dress she's wearing almost glows in the darkness. Quinn gulps as she looked into her red eyes. "I'm sorry. I don't mean to intrude, but my brother and cousin -" The girl laughs and the fox from the front door jumps onto her shoulder, eyes glowing red from underneath the girl's dark hair. Quinn stumbles backwards and trips and falls onto her backside. The girl steps forward and leans over her. "What's your name?" she asks. "Quinn... Quinn Renie." "Interesting," she mutters looking at her with narrow eyes. "I am Allie Shapa." Quinn whimpers a little. Allie snorts at her and takes a few steps back, leaving her some breathing room. "Don't worry about your dumb relative. I had Neil... show them the door," she told her and the grin on her face was unsettling and Quinn props herself up on her hands, but Allie is leaning over her again and her left hand is rest on the floor next to the brunette's waist. "Calm down." Quinn only looks at her as brings a pale hand to her face, cupping both of her checks and brushing her thump across her cheekbones. "I don't plan on hurting you. It's just odd seeing you this young again," she mutters and Quinn freezes again. "Tell me, how many years as it been Quinn? How many years since this house has been abandoned? How many years..." "One and fifty to this day," Quinn tells her quietly as Allie looks out the window, walking silently since she started to ask her questions. She carefully goes to the door and trying to get away from the girl in front of her. "One hundred and fifty years that I have been trapped here. That is a large length of time, with one by Neil." "I'm sorry," she tells her softly. Allie's eyes shift to her, but they're not focused. Like she can see the past and not in the present, the fox on the others hand just looks at her. "No, no. It's not your fault, it's never your fault," she mutterers. "Always been... never yours. Quinn... no. You can't leave! Not again!" Quinn only looks at her as she runs for that door. She run as fast as she can and it's the first time in her life, that she's glad that her Dad made her go into Athletics for all those years. Since she was able to outrun the girl and when she got outside, the fox just looks at her. "I hope you learned your listen Quinn Renie," it told her, it's tail going behind its head and she just looked at it. "Since next time you might not be able to leave alive. Not out of this house."
