Chapter 11: Wandering Thoughts

1142 Words
Mitchelle's POV The first contact my hands made on her skin made her flinch. I immediately retract my hands, worried I might have done something wrong to startle her. “What’s wrong?” I inquired. “Su-nny, your hands are cold.” She glanced over. Her voice small and cute and the way she is pouting is so adorable. How could she act greasy all the time and look cute the next? I rubbed my hands together, creating friction that will give it heat. Once they were warm enough, I touched her skin lightly. I dipped in like testing the water in the bath before going in. She didn’t react so I started to work my hands on her. Carefully, I traced the lines on her skin bordering her muscles and bones working my hands up and down. I felt her body relax as she released a deep sigh. Then I started to lightly knead on the tense muscles earning a muffled moan from her lips. She slightly tilt her head to the side. “Ohh…there Sunny.” She hummed with eyes closed. Feeling encouraged I continued pressing my digits on her soft body, harder on some spots and lighter on some, earning several ‘yes'es’ and ‘there’. This time I looked and studied the porcelain-like body under my hands. Not that it looks vulnerably-easy-to-break-like porcelain but because of it being spotless and smooth. I found it easy to glide my hands. Wait- Am I checking her out? No. NO. I AM NOT. Then the memory of her changing rushed back in my mind. I could still remember the stuffy room and her almost n***d torso flexing in front of me when she grabbed the shirt and put it on. I might have been wet by the rain but I didn’t exactly felt cold back there and this situation is exactly the same. “Harder.” Her voice echoed in the closed room. I feel heat suddenly creep up my face. If anyone would be listening on the other side of the door they would definitely get the wrong idea. Not that we are doing anything s****l or that sensual in any way but I cannot help myself to feel a tingling sensation at the pit of my stomach every time her low and husky voice would resound in the room. This is perfectly normal, Mitchelle Kim. I tried calming myself for the inexplicable panic bubbling its way into my chest. It is normal tobe in Alex room because you offered to massage her leg since you owe her for saving you with your wardrobe problem a while back. I tried talking myself out of it. “Ohhh~ You’re good at this, Sunny.” I know she is simply complementing my massaging skilss but my mind can’t seem to stop from taking her words out of the context and imagine more than what she actually meant. That's it. I had to abruptly stand and grabbed my backpack on the bedside table. I shuffled inside pretending to look for something when I’m just hiding my uneasiness and red-stained face. “I - uh,” I swallowed to mask the hitching of my voice. It seemed I lost my ability to speak properly. “I remember I had something to do at home. Yeah. So…I have to go home now.” I chuckled nervously. Why couldn't I even think of a better reason? My God, Mitchelle. Think straight. No pun intended. The younger girl glanced from her prone position. She looks at me quizzically with a raised eye brow. “Okay, you want me to see you out then?” She offered. “No, no. I’ll send myself out. No worries. Just rest your leg. Take care.” I rambled on. I sounded like I can’t wait to get out of the place so to appease any negative that might be raised in her mind because of my inexplicable actions, I shoot her a smile. It might have looked awkward so I turned right away and turned to the door. “Wait.” I heard her call out. I stopped in my tracks to face her. She is now sitting upright, legs hanging on the side of the bed. “I had fun today Mitchelle. Thank you.” Her face was radiant and genuinely happy. The Indian dimples crinkling under her eyes are so deep when she smile like that. “Me too, Alex.” The sight was definitely one of my favorites. I exited the apartment after leaving her my number in case she needed my help. Sleep hardly visited me that night. I couldn’t fathom why I was feeling that way. I was confused that I had to go to school groggily the following day. --- It was the usual Monday. By usual means long tiring classes occasionally interrupted by Ari’s chatter (mostly about her newfound friendship with Breana) and Alex’ overt flirty jokes and playful banter with me. I’ve grown closer to Alex as Ari has been to Breana. It reminds me that Alex and Bree were actually old friends but seemingly something has changed between the dynamics of the two. The smaller girl is apparently avoiding the other but I’m in no position to intrude on their issue. After classes I meet up with my bandmates at the gym for practice. We were rehearsing some of the songs we will play at the festival. I’ll have a solo and so is Jack. For our duet we are going to sing a cover of Bad at Love. I was going to sing and dance to my self-composed song for my solo. “Sunny.” Wheein called out from the bleachers. Jack is practicing his ballad so I and Breana are on break. I had to climb up and sit beside the girl that has her face all scrunched up reading something on a paper. I glanced at it and saw the title at the top of the page. Angel's Cry “What is it Bree?” I asked to her, motioning to the paper she laid on her other side that’s opposite me. “It - it’s a song I made. You told me that – that we still have a few minutes lapse on the performance. Maybe, I, uh – we…” She trailed off, her voice is unsure. Her head turned down while she is fumbling with her hands. “Yeah…go on.” I urged the short-haired girl. After a second, she finally lifted her gaze and gulped before speaking. “Maybe we could sing it?”
