Aisling POV
I woke up early and quickly got dressed. Nerves and anxiety were eating me up. I had no idea, but I wanted to go with my mom instead of my dad. Deep down, I wanted to see him… despite everything and my mistakes, I have always liked him.
When I realized that, I was scared that it would ruin my friendship with Iris, because, as her brother, the unspoken rule about it was that he was out of reach for all of us. Now that fate played that bitter joke on us, in the worst way at the worst time, I wanted to see him, see that he was fine, even see him move on with his life, regardless of the pain that it might cause me. Yeah, I am that psychotic, and I am a certified masochist, that is for sure.
I walked out of my room, and dad looked over his phone screen and gave me a once-over.
