Waking up

"The pup followed you two back."  Chance stated more than asked. "Yeah, he is waiting to talk to her,"  Katie said with a strange smile. "You like him,"  Chase remarked and Katie nodded. "You know how pig-headed that girl is."  Chance said thinking about the past.  "If she doesn't accept that boy, his bloodline dies with him.  He is a good man, he watched his childhood girlfriend get ripped apart by rogues.  He still blames himself." "Why does he blame himself?"  Chase asked confused. "They snuck away to have sex."  Chance said with a sigh. "Well, s**t, she isn't going to like that one bit,"  Katie remarked with a sigh. Chance nodded, "No, she won't" xxx Leaving the dome, Griffin returned to the room, he looked Kylie over, then he began grabbing his clothes, heading for the bathroom.  He washed his face, brushed his teeth, threw his clothes into the dirty bin and put on the fresh clothes. Once he finished he went back into the room.  He stared at Jason holding Kylie for a few minutes, with a sigh he leaned over and kissed her forehead, caressing her cheek.  "I love you, Goddess," he whispered.  Looking over to her side, he saw Brandon.  Brandon looked worn out, his eyes were sunk in from the effects of being kept from his mate.  Griffin carefully flashed Brandon so that he was sleeping on a bed that he flashed into the room.  Poor kid needs to get some sleep, he will have a lot of work to do once Kylie wakes up.  Then Griffin got into his bed and held Kylie's hand, finally falling asleep. This routine continued for 3 more days.  Griffin had gone and brought both pups back, he knew Kylie would want them. When Kylie started smelling something quite intoxicating, she moaned ever so contently.  Her eyes were glued tightly shut, she didn't seem to be able to open them. "Kylie?"  Griffin said having felt her hand tightly grip onto his.  "Goddess, please wake up." He whispered holding his breath.  He thought he saw some movement in her eyelid but nothing happened.  "Please wake up,"  he whispered again. Kylie's eye fluttered open and quickly shut.   Griffin's heart was racing. He leaned over and kissed her knuckles, her hand still firmly inside his own. "Griffy" she barely got out with her scratchy voice. "Baby, here," he said holding water to her lips.  She took a few small sips and tried again to open her eyes. "What's that smell?" she asked moaning again.  "It smells yummy."  She still hadn't fully opened her eyes. "Kylie, no matter what happens, I love you." "I love you too Griffy, why are you acting so funny?" she asked finally getting her eyes to open. She looked around and her eyes fell on a sleeping Brandon.  "Who is he?"  she asked concerned. "Another mate."  Griffin was barely audible. "No,"  Kylie said shaking her head.   "Not his fault, none of us did this Kylie,"  he said sadly.  "Your Grandmother was lonely most of the time.  I think she wanted to make sure that you were not."  He sighed out.  "At least talk to him,"  Griffin said sadly. "You want me to accept him?" she asked in disbelief. "Kylie, if you don't accept him, his line dies.  He won't have another chance, his line doesn't get a second chance.  A chosen mate won't work either, he will go crazy and kill her."  Griffin explained. Kylie looked at him, "Dad told me about that line when I was little.  He said that the Black line was very strong, the Alpha's always were completely and hopelessly in love with their Luna's.  No woman could ever replace them and they went mad if they were not accepted by their mate.  Dad said they are important to the pack because we do a lot of trade with them."  Kylie said thinking back.  "Griffy, is that smell him?"  she suddenly asked. "What are you smelling?"  he asked confused. "Freshly baked cinnamon rolls,"  she said her mouth-watering. Griffin chuckled, "I guess so."
