CHAPTER 5: THE TRUTH

Ty’s POV

I woke up refreshed and energized and it seemed like I could conquer the world singlehandedly.

I freshened up quickly and walked downstairs, only to be greeted by the aroma of freshly made breakfast.

Dy was busy in the kitchen while Tyra and Dad were setting the table together.

“Good Morning Ty !”

“Morning ! Smells nice”, I said.

“Slept well ?”, Dad asked.

“Yes Dad ! I missed my bed I guess”, I chuckled.

“Son, Tyson and Tyra will be going with me to Green Moss Pack for a week. Alpha Kyle has business to attend away from the pack so I will be in charge. I want you to take care of yourself while we are away and I hope to see an unburnt house when we come back”, Dy grinned.

Dy was not talking about my cool fire breathing dragon powers at the moment. It was an embarrassing childhood incident with the sextuplets that he was referring to.

The Alpha siblings had come over for a sleepover at our place and at midnight, we crept down the stairs to the kitchen and tried to act like Michelin chefs.

We had this huge urge to eat cookies at that time and long story short, the oven had blasted into flames while later we realized that we had added baking soda in huge quantities instead of powdered sugar in the mixture. Everything had been a mess and all of us had been grounded for a very long time.

“Don’t worry, Dy. I won’t burn the house”, I said. Dy chuckled and I continued, “But I am thinking to flood it this time”, I said darkly.

And that’s when I got what I deserved.

“Dy ! Ouch !! I am sorry, I was just joking”, I screamed in pain like a kid while Dy pinched my ears hard.

“Serves you right”, Tyra said and everyone laughed except for me. There is no humour in torture. Trust me.

“When are you guys going ?”, I asked as I tucked in a sandwich greedily.

“Right now. Just after breakfast”, Dad replied.

“I see”, I said and went in the kitchen to wash our dishes.

“Ty, I want a moment with you”, Dad said as he entered the kitchen and I finished washing the last plate.

“Yes Dad. Let me just dry my hands off”, I said and followed my Dad to his study.

“Son, I want you to know the truth before you face him and do anything stupid”, Dad said in all seriousness.

Him ? Who ?

“What are you talking about, Dad ?”, I asked as I seated myself in a chair opposite to him.

“Let’s say that I know the reason why you went to that Academy, Ty”, he said.

He knew ? s**t.

“Why didn’t you tell me that you knew ?”, I quietly asked with a raised brow.

“I didn’t know till Kai went to the military for four years after he killed Brianna and Alpha Victor killed a traitorous witch after you left.

“THEY DID WHAT ?”, I asked in bewilderment.

“After you went, Alpha Victor found out that Kai had been drugged and Brianna and the witch had been the culprits. The witch was already wanted for supplying potions to the rogues so Alpha Victor’s deed was justified but Kai lost to his wolf and snapped off Brianna’s head”, Dad narrated.

“What happened then ?”, I asked fearfully. Kai had killed a she wolf and ofcourse the council must have dictated a harsh punishment on him.

“He was punished by the council”, he answered.

“What was the punishment, Dad ?”, I stressed.

“He was not allowed to contact you till you returned back home. He was so broken that he signed up for the toughest military program and he had to be forcefully sent back home when he over exerted himself with work”, Dad replied.

“I see but that is all in the past now, Dad. We both shall get our own mates so I really don’t feel like connecting back with him. Things are best the way they are, afterall he did betray me even if he was drugged and I don’t feel like complicating our lives and making things awkward for all of us”, I calmly pointed out.

“I will not force you to do anything, Ty but you deserved the truth”, he said.

“Thank you, Dad !”

“It’s ok, son”, he replied and proceeded to get out of the study room with me.
