Broken Seal

The boys got up early for the day, and they are on their way to the breakfast tent to eat. But then Zander suddenly felt like the air was knocked off his chest and he fell to his knees. He was panting really hard as his eyes widened.

“Hey, are you okay? What happened to you?”Crane asked and he helped Zander stand up.

Zander grabbed his chest and began rubbing it to ease the stinging feeling. He never felt anything like it before and it scares him. He took several deep breaths before he was able to feel okay.

“I don’t know, but I felt like I was hit by a defibrillator or worst, a giant stun gun,” Zander answered, and the boys gave him a confused look.

“Defibrillator? Stun gun? Really?”Seb asked as he cannot wrap his head around what Zander just felt.

“I can’t really explain it, okay? It hurts and it scared the crap out of me. The force that hit me was strong but it felt familiar at the same time.”Zander told them, and then something in him made him turn towards the direction of the vampire castle.

Somehow, he felt worried for his sister. There was a gnawing feeling in the pit of his stomach and feels like it has something to do with Zari.

“Do you think something happened with the girls?”Fiero asked and Zander shrugged.

“I don’t know.”

They just told Zander to ignore it for the meantime and just focus on the day’s training. Zander agreed and they went to the breakfast tent to eat. But all the while they are eating; Zander was silent, still thinking of what happened and his sister’s situation. He can’t understand what was happening but he felt like something in him snapped. He has that feeling that something is clawing its way out of his body.

Even his Lycan Achilles is quiet too; he can feel him but he’s really quiet. He called for him but he never got any response from him. It’s like Achilles froze inside his mind and it’s enough for Zander to know that something is really happening. Though anxious, Zander then decided to shake it off and just eat.

After they ate breakfast, they went to the training grounds and meet Massimo there for their training. They were about to start when the pack’s Gamma approached them with the group of bullies.

He confronted Massimo about the fight that happened between his boys and Massimo’s. They exchanged banters and in the end, they agreed to let the two groups spar. And as both groups agreed, they walked inside the sparring circle and the boys paired up with Adonis’s group.

“Alright, fight!” Massimo signaled and the fight began.

Adonis attacked first and Fiero counteract it immediately. Adonis’ friends attacked as well as Seb and the others fought them back. Massimo and the Gamma watch as their boys spar. The Gamma was thrilled to see how his boys attacked, but when Massimo’s boys were able to dodge their attacks and fought back, the smug look on his face started to fade and it was replaced by a frown.

Zander on the other hand felt worst than earlier, so all he did was dodge his opponent’s attacks. His vision suddenly becomes hazy, giving his opponent an edge and he didn’t have time to avoid the punch. Zander fell to the ground and his opponent took that chance to straddle him, trapped him between his legs, and threw punches after punches.

Zander felt something hot bubbling inside him. His opponents’ punches aggravate what he is feeling, and it’s not pleasant. The bubbling feeling of fury and bloodlust in him intensified and it was like a volcano about to erupt. And when he felt like its lid popped off, he felt a different kind of energy and power spread through his entire body. He felt hot like fire was burning his whole body, consuming him.

It’s drowning him and his mind is blank and all he wanted was for the people around him to shed blood. Soon, he felt like he was pulled into the bottom of quicksand and he has no way out. He totally blacked out.

And when his opponent threw a punch at him again, Zander was able to catch his fist and he snapped its wrist before he delivers his first punch. Zander’s punch was deliberately strong that everyone heard a sickening crack and his opponent flew out of the circle, unconscious.

Adonis and his friends saw what happened and they all run toward Zander and attacked him. Fiero and the other tried to stop them and protect Zander from Adonis’ attack, but Zander swiftly caught Adonis’ leg and punched him in the groin, before he delivered a roundhouse kick sending him out of the circle.

Everyone was surprised by what happened, especially when Zander also threw Adonis’ friends out of the circle. Crane felt something was different with Zander, and when he approached him, he was surprised to see Zander’s eyes. One was glowing blue while the other was entirely black. His face also looked like he was struggling inside.

Not liking the outcome of the sparring, the gamma left with Adonis and his group. Once they were gone, Massimo jogged towards Zander, and he grabbed his face and looked into his eyes.

“Zander, how are you feeling?”Massimo asked, but Zander didn’t answer and he was just glaring into space.

Massimo then turned towards the others.

“What is happening to him?” He asked and the boys shrugged.

Massimo looked at Zander’s eyes and he knew having an entire black eye is not a good sign.

“Did this happen before? What happened to his eyes?” He asked them.

“No. This is the first time.” Crane said.

“Is he just spacing out or in trance?”Seb asked as he waves his hand in front of Zander’s face.

Then Zander’s other eye turned black, and the boys are all alarmed.

“s**t!”

“This isn’t good.”Crane hissed, and the others took a step back, away from Zander.

“We need to get him out of here before we have a blood bath here,” Crane told them.

“Let’s go then,” Fiero said and then he pulled Zander towards the direction of the neutral grounds in the forest.

When they got there, Zander suddenly dropped to the ground and just lay still. His eyes closed as if he was sleeping but he isn’t.

“Then what is happening to him?”Massimo asked.

Seb looked at Zander, and he can see an enormous amount of energy clawing its way out of Zander’s body. Like his sister, Seb can also see and measure someone’s energy and power just by looking at that person. And as he looks at Zander, his energy and power are off the charts.

“This kind of energy, I have never seen anything like this,” Seb told everyone.

“His energy is not just sipping off his skin, it already broke out and it’s like wildfire swirling around him.”

“What do you mean by that? Can you tell me what is really going on?” Massimo stressed.

“It’s hard to explain, but I suspect it’s because of their father,” Fiero said and Massimo arched his eyebrow at him, urging him to explain.

“Zander and Zari’s biological father is more than a tribrid. He is a werewolf, with the blood of a Lycan and vampire venom in his veins, and he is also a Nephilim.”Fiero told Massimo who looked confused.

“I think it’s hard for me to believe that,” Massimo said.

“It’s true, though we never had seen Uncle Alex’s demon form. We just saw his enormous black wings and his super scary aura.” Seb said.

Then Crane received a message from his sister and the others noticed it.

“What happened?” Massimo asked as he noticed that Crane looked more worried.

“My sister said Zari is in the same situation as Zander,” Crane answered.

“Huh? How? I don’t understand.”

“She said Zari’s energy was all over the place, it was spiking that it threw her mate across the room, and then she fainted. Just like Zander there.”Crane told them, and then they all looked at Zander.

Massimo made his way towards Zander and then he crouched down beside him and run his fingers through his hair.

“If what you say is true about the Nephilim blood, then their blood is waking up,” Massimo said.

“But why are they waking up at the same time? They are not twins like my sister and me.”Fiero said.

“They may not be twins but I think it’s because Uncle Alex’s Nephilim was divided into them. Dad told me before that Zander and Zari are so connected that they are like twins.”Seb explained.

Then their attention turned towards Zander when they heard him groaning. His groaning turned to low growls like he is in pain and beads of sweat covered his forehead. Crane walked closer to Zander to check up on him, but then Zander suddenly sat up.

And when he opened his eyes, they were pools of endless darkness making everyone else take a step back. Zander stood up and faces them before he stretches his neck.

“Zander...”Crane called warily.

The others tried to call him as well but they didn’t get any response from their cousin. Massimo tried to approach Zander, but he grabbed his hand and snapped his wrist before he threw him over his shoulders, towards the huge oak tree. The boys were surprised by what Zander did and when he turned toward them, they immediately took a step back. Especially when they saw the menacing look on his face and black veins began to appear on his pale skin.

Zander growled and attacked them at an incredible speed. His focus was on Fiero who didn’t have time to react. Zander straight punched Fiero and he flew across the field with a broken nose. Seb went to Fiero’s rescue but Zander suddenly appeared in front of him and punched him in the gut before he was thrown into the row of trees

Crane hissed at what happened to his brother and he dashed towards Zander and grabbed him from behind, binding him with his arms.

“Zander, wake up! Damn it!”Crane snarled.

Zander growled and fought Crane. He headbutted him and snapped his arms before punching him. Massimo came to his aid and pulled Crane away from Zander. Massimo stood his ground against Zander as he continued to try to talk him to stop.

The two of them fought hard in that forest as the others stood on the sidelines and had their injuries heal. Massimo being a seasoned warrior can take Zander’s attack and give his own. Unlike the boys who cannot even land a punch on Zander, Massimo was precise in his every attack and he landed several punches on Zander. He even managed to slam Zander to the ground and stunned him for a second by just growling loudly at him.

Then Massimo tried to talk to him, to get him to change back to normal. But Zander was not responding like he wasn’t listening, so Massimo punched him in pressure points to make him pass out but it also didn’t work. Zander just got angrier and he punched Massimo, throwing him off him. Fiero used his gift and tried to bind Zander with vines but Zander was able to get out of it.

The look on Zander’s meant that he is not going to stop until he satisfied his hunger. When the boys attacked him all at once, Zander let out a strong wave of energy that threw everyone off, making them crash everywhere. And before they could recover, Zander’s nails grew long and sharp like razor claws.

He then attacked Massimo, but before he gets to him, he froze midway. Then the others carefully looked at Zander and they saw that his eyes were no longer black. Crane reached out and patted Zander’s cheek.

“Zander, are you civilized now?”He asked.

He continued to pat his cheeks until it become a full slap, while he calls out to Zander. Three more slaps and Zander blinked twice, and then he looked like he just woke up from a dream. He looks around and when he looked at Crane, he grabbed his shoulders.

“I haven’t killed anyone, right?” Zander asked and the others let out a sigh of relief.

“We’re all alive, you didn’t kill anyone.” Crane said, and it was Zander’s turn to let out a sigh of relief.

Then Massimo walked closer and he gently grabbed Zander’s face.

“Are you okay now?”He asked and Zander smiled at him.

“I heard your voice when I was in that dark place.” Zander started.

“Thank you for helping me get back, papa,” Zander said.

Massimo was surprised by what Zander called him, and all he could do was nod as tears welled around his eyes. Then Massimo patted his shoulder before pulling him in a hug.
