Chapter 5 Victoria The blue of the ocean and the green of the frond were omnipresent and brightened the view of the visitors, justifying the fame of paradise that the place possessed. From the highest points they could see the bay with its islets dotted in the sea and the sailboats anchored around them or entering and leaving the bay. The colonial mansions alternated with the bustling streets of houses that climbed to the nearby hills, also covered with buildings.
