The others and I walked into Mirovi's office. The room was huge with a large window looking over the courtyard. He had an overly large hard wood desk as well as an impressive book collection on the bookshelves behind him. He walked round his desk and placed his hands on the surface, leaning over and giving me a pointed look. "I knew you would be trouble here. I have half a mind to call an emergency council meeting and have you shipped to Broken Hill right now!"
"Broken Hill?" Kadzait growled.
"You can't be serious? Your own daughter?" Caleb yelled.
"This wasn't even her fault!" Lazarus hissed.
"Really?" Mirovi drawled as his eyes slid from me to Lazarus. "So, you offered for her to feed off you?"
"Yes." Lazarus admitted, making Mirovi's eyes darken for a second in anger before they returned to their original colour.
"Lazarus, you know the consequences of blood sharing, why would you offer to do that with… her?" Mirovi asked, waving towards me like I was an annoying fly buzzing around him.
"She needed to feed sir." He pointed out, still not backing down.
"And that is why we have the humans in the feeding chamber." Mirovi then looked at me. "Or are you refusing to feed from a human after what you did to your little boyfriend?" I held my head low as I felt the other three look at me with shock. "You didn't seem to mind feeding from a human when you were f*****g your little boyfriend. Martin, was it?"
"Matthew." I hissed back in correction, hating how he was speaking of our relationship.
"Well, maybe you will feed properly if I get someone to bring him here." Mirovi offered.
"No, please." I begged as Mirovi picked up the phone on his desk.
He punched in a few numbers. "Bring the human here." he simply said.
I looked around in panic as there was a pop in the middle of the room and Max and Lily stood holding on to either side of a struggling Matthew. "Let go of me." he gritted out.
My heart pounded in my chest as I stepped forward, not sure if what I was seeing was real. "Matthew?" I breathed out stepping closer.
He turned to me, Max and Lily letting go of him, his face scrunching up in confusion. "Who are you?"
My face fell as Matthew looked at me with no recognition at all. Mirovi letting out a small chuckle. "You knew the consequences of us taking you from the human world. Your friend here, as well as all of your other friends have no memory of you at all." my stomach clenched as I looked into the eyes of the man I loved to see nothing but confusion staring back at me.
"What do you want?" I gritted out, looking past Matthew to Mirovi. "What would it take for you to take him back unharmed?"
Mirovi smiled in victory. "You will refrain from making any more scenes here at my institute. Let this serve as a warning that I can use any of those that you care for against you whenever I see fit." I nodded slowly, looking back at Matthew who still looked at me like a complete stranger, slight fear in his eyes at not knowing where he was. "Say it!"
I swallowed hard. "I will not make any more scenes." I whispered.
Mirovi nodded to Max and Lily who each grabbed Matthew again and disappeared. "I may not have raised you but there are many here that still see you as my daughter." Mirovi hissed as he glared at Caleb. "Do not make me have to do this again."
With that the four of us turned and walked out of the office. I felt numb, completely numb. I didn't know where I was going as I just put one foot in front of the other. A hand grabbed my arm and pulled me into an empty classroom. The walls I had been holding up with all my might fell as the tears pooled in my eyes. I was pulled against someone's chest as a sob broke free. Two arms wrapped around me as four hands rubbed my back soothingly, letting me just cry out all the turmoil I felt inside.
Mirovi was a monster, a true monster. I knew it would only be a matter of time before he would have to call on his tricks again. There were too many here that hated me just for existing for me to have a quiet life. I fisted my hands in the shirt of whoever held me, just to keep myself standing. With every tear that fell I felt weaker and weaker. "Violet, you need to feed." Lazarus whispered to me.
I just shook my head, unable to bring myself to hurt anyone after seeing Matthew's face again. "You can feed off me." Caleb offered.
I felt the chest below me rumble at Caleb words. "If she feeds off anyone, it is me." I looked up at Kadzait, realising it was him who was holding me. He used his large thumb to brush away the tears that still fell. "It's okay." he encouraged. He walked backwards slightly, my body automatically following as the hands of the others slid away. He sat down on one of the tables, lifting me slightly to perch on his lap as my eyes stayed locked with his, my skirt hiking up around me. "It's okay." he repeated.
My eyes moved from his to his neck, his wounds already healed from his fight with Lazarus. My fangs descended as my eyes locked on his pulse. I looked back at him one more time, Kadzait nodding as his hands looped around me and pulled me closer. I was so hungry, and right now Kadzait smelled so good, like earth and sunshine.
I reached forward slightly and sunk my fangs into his vessels. His blood tasted like nature and my arms moved to wrap around him to hold on as I began to feed. A moan escaped me as his blood flowed through me, his hands moving up my skirt up slightly to hold on to my bare ass making me start to grind against him. "Shit." he hissed out before he groaned, whether from my movement or the drugs effect, I don't know, but I felt his erection push against me, encouraging me to continue on.
Kadzait let out a primal growl, pulling me from the serenity I had found as I felt a hand in my shoulder. "That's enough." Lazarus told me; his own voice breathy with lust. I whimpered slightly, not wanting to stop as my fangs retracted as I lapped up the little blood that escaped before the wound healed up.
I pulled back, my eyes meeting those of Kadzait, except it wasn't him, not fully. His Lycan was close to the surface, I could tell by the yellow glow around his eyes. His hands pulled me tight to him as he let out another primal growl, making Lazarus pull his hand away. "Mine." he growled, holding on to me like Lazarus was trying to take away his favourite toy.
"Kadzait." Caleb gritted out. "You can't…"
"Mine." Kadzait snarled again, pushing the table we were sat on away and standing with me in his arms, backing away from the others.
"Kadzait." I whispered. His eyes moved slowly from the others to me, his nose leaning forward to nuzzle against my own in affection. "You are a Lycan alpha, you know that you need to mate with another alpha. You cannot claim me as yours." I didn’t know much about Lycans and werewolves, but what I did know was that the way Kadzait was claiming me as his, was dangerous. It meant he saw me as his mate, as his and his alone. That could not happen.
Kadzait growled at my words, shaking his head as the human and Lycan side fought within. "She is right Kadzait, your father would never allow this." Caleb whispered.
"Plus, you are only saying it because you are lost in the lust. Once the drug wears off you will go back to how you felt before." Lazarus smirked.
Kadzait growled at Lazarus, his Lycan obviously seeing him as a threat. "Kadzait, put me down." I softly said. He growled softly and shook his head again. "Kadzait, please." I begged.
Slowly he lowered me back to the floor, my skirt falling back into its proper position as his hands moved away. I slowly walked backwards, not wanting to make any sudden movements that would alert his beastly counterpart. "You should go to your next class, leave us to help Kadzait reign in his Lycan." Lazarus told me. I slowly looked over to Caleb who nodded that this was for the best as I slowly picked up my bag that I had let fall to the floor and backed straight out of the room.
A part of me, a bigger part than I wanted to admit, wanted to stay and help Kadzait. An even bigger part of me was hurt by my own words that him and I could never be together. From what I had learned about lycan's I knew that what I said was true, but that somehow did not help ease the sting. I must be going crazy, the blood making me so f*****g horny that I am not seeing straight. I mean, how could I be lusting after both Lazarus and Kadzait, not to mention what I felt for Caleb. When he protected me from the two of them while they fought, I felt safe in his arms. I knew a part of that was just the angel in him, but something in me was whispering that it was more than that. The look of confusion on Matthew’s face came back to mind and I felt awful for feeling any of the tornado of emotions that were swirling inside me at all. Twice a day I would have to feed, I would have to try and get a hold of myself quickly or I would tear myself apart.
There was a puff of air beside me and I turned to see a flustered looking Petal. "There you are. Come on, you are going to be late for spell casting."
I followed the angry old woman, who was a breath of fresh air out of the main building and back over to where it seemed all the witch-based lessons were. We took a different maze of corridors than before and stopped outside a wooden door. I swear I don't know how anyone knows where they are going as all the corridors and doors look identical to each other, despite being different buildings.
I walked inside and was happy to see the place only half full and so took a seat at the back, wanting to draw as little attention as possible to myself. I pulled out my book designated for my witch lessons and sat patiently as the class slowly filled, happy to find Zavira was not in this class. "Afternoon class." a man announced as he walked into the front of the room. "Today we are going to learn how to create a pocket universe. This is a common spell used on bags and other carrying items so that they can hold as much as is needed. This is an intensive spell and can be draining on the caster, which is why if you have a spell related class after this you will be excused from attending." I took a sneaky glance at my timetable, sighing as I saw I had supernatural history next.
The teacher went over the steps of what we needed to do, the motions we needed to make with our hands as well as the exact words we needed to say. The words were in an ancient tongue and had a lot of strange accents on them that were hard to pronounce. "Once you have created your pocket universe, only you can reach what is inside it. This is a protection against others taking the items that you hold within this universe." The teacher's words made me determined to be successful as we began to try and cast the spell on our bags.
I picked up my bag emptying the contents onto the table, imagining the space inside it expanding to infinity, small ledges being created to house the many items I wanted to store within it. I whispered the words, feeling my power move from me and to the bag. I chanted the words over and over, being sure to pronounce them just right until there was a woosh of air around me. I wiped my forehead on the back of my hand, getting rid of the sweat that had gathered there. The teacher wasn't kidding when he said the spell was draining. I reached inside my bag and smiled to realise I had indeed been successful. I picked up my things and placed them back into my bag, smiling as the bag still appeared to be empty and was light as if it was as well, but when I reached inside, everything I had put inside was still there. I looked around at the frustrated faces of those who were still trying to be successful and the pale faces of those that had been, looking like they were ready to sleep.
"Alright, well done today class. If you haven't been successful then keep trying but make sure to take regular rests as this spell is of a high level." we all nodded and I stood to my feet, clasping on to the table for support before I managed to walk on my own.
I filed out with the rest of the pupils, finding Petal waiting for me. "Oh dear, you look awfully pale." she whispered. "Do you need to go back to your room?"
I shook my head. "I just have one more class." I replied, my voice hoarse with tiredness but determined to not show weakness. Petal looked at me before nodding and walking off at a much slower pace than she had been using before. We headed back to the main building and thankfully up only one flight of stairs. The class was lined up outside the room as Petal gave me one more unsure look before walking away.
I joined the queue, resting my head against the wall with my exhaustion. "Violet." someone said, making me realise I had let my eyes fall closed. I opened them to see Caleb stood in front of me, brushing my loose hair away from my face. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, just a little drained." I stood up, trying to look better than I felt. "How is Kadzait?"
Caleb smiled. "He is fine, don't think feeding from him is a good idea in the future though." he whispered to me leaning down so that he was right next to my ear, the smell of fresh air filling my lungs. "But you can still feed from me." he whispered.
I felt my fangs start to descend, wanting to take Caleb up on his offer then and there until I felt a hand wrap around me and pull me back. "Don't feed in public, ever." it was Lazarus, and my fangs automatically withdrew at his warning. "Especially with the sounds you make." he laughed against me. Caleb stepped closer and I felt my whole body feel like it was being electrified as I was caught between the two walls of muscles. I felt my body go lax against Lazarus, my tiredness making my thoughts clouded until the line started to move and the two pulled away.
I clasped on to the wall and pulled myself away as I walked on unsteady legs into the classroom, Lazarus and Caleb easily manoeuvring me into a seat between the two of them. I looked at them both as they smirked at me before placing their hands on either one of my bare knees, making me bite down on my bottom lip to suppress a moan as they kneaded my tender flesh. I heard them both chuckle, making me try and clasp my knees together only to have them wrenched back apart. As the teacher walked in, I was glad that they didn't continue with their teasing.
I quickly grabbed my book and pen from my bag ready to take notes. The teacher talked about the war that used to rage between the many species of the supernatural world, starting soon after the creation of the nosferatu and vampire, the other races feeling the witches were trying to gain an upper hand and the witches seeing the nosferatu and vampires as disgusting mutations. It was only through Asloxorth and his followers that peace was finally made between the races and the institute was set up in his name.
My pen fell flat on the table mid-sentence as my head rolled back in exhaustion. I weakly picked it up and finished my notes by hand, happy when the teacher called it an end to the class. I groaned as I packed up my belongings and tried to stand only for my knees to buckle and for me to fall back into my seat. Caleb and Lazarus both helped me up, looking at me with worry as they helped me out of the room.
"You shouldn't have to feed again so soon." Lazarus whispered.
"Petal said the blood fuels my magic, so when I use a lot of magic…"
"You will need to feed more." Lazarus sighed. I nodded he was right as the two of them helped me into an empty room. "You will need to feed again then."
"Take me to the feeding chamber." I groaned.
"Violet, we both know if I take you there you will find it hard to feed. You need blood now and you have two people here willing to feed you." Lazarus hissed.
"But I can't just keep feeding off you forever. I-it's too hard." I stutter out as I let my voice fade.
"It's hard for us too." Caleb admitted as he brushed away the hair that had fallen over my face. "I have never been so turned on as when you fed from Kadzait. But I would rather you fed from me or Lazarus than some human in the basement that has already had God knows who suck them dry."
Lazarus stepped in behind me, making my breath catch in my throat. "He is right princess. You should drink from one of us." I leaned back into his touch, too tired to tell my body no. Caleb stepped forward, pushing my legs wide apart to make room for himself, leaning down so that his neck was hovering close to my mouth. I whimpered with need at the pull of both the light and the dark within them calling to me. My fangs broke free of my gums and I leaned forward to take a taste.
The door opened and Lazarus and Caleb shielded me from whoever was walking in. "You shouldn't be in here. This is a classroom not a common room."
"Take us to your room." Lazarus whispered in my ear. I nodded and concentrate as much as I could, the two of them holding on to me as we disappeared from the classroom and reappeared at the top of the servants' quarters.
