6 Chapter 6: The Tomb of Ice and Snow
Quiet humming ushered Dorian from his groggy slumber the next morning. Xia sat brushing her hair in the bedside chair. He sat up yawning, stretching his stiff appendages.
“I was wondering when you were going to wake up. Thought I was going to have to kiss you,” Xia said with a smile.
Dorian glanced around the quiet room chuckling. “What’s funny?” Xia asked.
“It’s just strange not waking up to the sound of crying babies.”
Xia laughed. “Agreed. That may have been the best night sleep I’ve had in awhile,” she replied.
“I wonder if they are behaving,” Dorian said.
“We could ask Maya to check in on them before we go,” Xia suggested.
