“Opening night, let’s go,” Kai called out.
Marina was touching up her makeup backstage. She’d found the perfect shade of red lipstick to go with a vivid red dress printed with palm trees. A vivid green scarf kept her neck warm. All around her, cast members were jostling for space in front of the mirrors, but spirits were high. After dealing with Jack, this was exactly what she needed. Surely, she could avoid him tonight.
Next to her, Shelly sang out, “Woo-hoo! Let’s do this.”
Even the usually grumpy Darla joined the cheer, wearing a smile emboldened with cherry red lipstick.
