Chapter 6: Family Reunion

Jade's P.O.V

"Your what?" He started to laugh and led me over to the couch, which seems to be the only piece of furniture in the room. He sits beside me and takes my hand in his.

"My mate. The moon goddess grants each wolf a mate. Someone who they are destined to be with forever. Sort of like a soul mate. We're meant to be together Jade. That's why you feel what you do when you touch me. It's the mate bond. The moon goddess created it so that mates would want to um, consummate their relationship and create pups." I didn't really know what he meant by consummate but I was to intrigue by the whole idea of mates, I didn't bother asking.

"Why didn't you save me then? If you knew that I was your mate?" I couldn't hide the slight tremor in my voice. He gave me a sad smile and gently tucked a piece of stray hair behind my ear. 

"I didn't know that you were my mate then. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to have live without you. Just the thought of you being taken from me again," I notice how he starts to get angry so I place my hand on his cheek to calm him down. 

He stops speaking and we both become entranced by each other's eyes. He slowly starts to lean in but I turn my head away just time so his lips press against my cheek instead. 

He move back and we both just sit in an awkward silence. 

"I'm sorry but I'm not ready. The things they did to me there scarred me. Emotionally and physically. I need time." My entire body is screaming at me to kiss him but my mind is telling me to wait. 

No matter how much I want him, I can't. Just the thought of letting a man touch me like my master or Kyle used to, makes me feel sick. 

"It's okay, I understand. I'll wait for as long as you want. We have forever." I smile at him and he places a kiss on my forehead. 

He stands and holds out his hand for me. I take it and we make our way back to the living room.

There's a large group of people talking amongst themselves in the middle. I don't recognise any of them until the Alpha and Luna, or mum and dad, emerge from the group. 

"Jade, sweetheart I was so worried. Are you okay?" I lower my head as a sign of respect and look down as I speak. 

"Yes, Luna. I just needed some space. I talked to Kaiden and he told me everything." She placed a finger under my chin to move my head up. 

"Jade, you're my daughter. You don't have to address me as Luna." She gave me a warm motherly smile and I smiled back.

"Okay, what should I call you then? I'm not sure I'm ready to call you mum yet." 

"How about, Olivia or if you want Liv? No-one expect your father calls me that." She looked back to the Alpha and he just gave her a nod in return. 

I hate when people can just communicate with looks. It just makes me feel so stupid when I don't know what they mean. 

"I'd like that." Her smile widened, if possible, and she brought me into a tight hug. 

"So, I know this is probably a lot for you but they all really wanted to meet you." She gestured to the group of people behind us and they all flashed a smile at me.

"It's fine. I think I'll be okay." I felt someone hold my hand and looked to my right. Kaiden gave me a reassuring smile and squeezed my hand. 

"I'll be right here the whole time. If you want to leave, just tell me and we'll go." He whispered into my ear, as we made our way to the group. 

The first group of people who came up to me were a couple with a boy, who looked to be maybe 14 or 15 years old. "Jade, this is my childhood best friend Casey, her mate Ashton, who is also the third in command of the pack and their son Harry." 

"Jade, I missed you so much. You look just like your mum did at your age. Literally, you could be twins." She said as she brought me into a hug and everyone started to laugh. 

I like her. She seems fun and bubbly, like her mate Ashton. They're like the exact same person, except different genders. 

Next, a couple with matching blonde hair and blue eyes stepped forward, with a sixteen year old boy trailing behind them. "This is the beta and female beta of the pack. Liam and Kylie. They were my first friends in the pack and that's their son Logan." 

They both pulled me into a group hug and they seemed really nice but I noticed that their son didn't seem to like me that much from the scowl on his face. Kylie whacked him over the head and he muttered a welcome back. 

Kaiden let go of my head to introduce the next group of people. 

The woman was really beautiful and she had tanned skin with long black hair. The man looked like an older version of Kaiden except with light brown hair and they had girl with them who couldn't have been any older than 14. She started to squeal and ran to hug me.

"Oh my god. I can't believe I'm really meeting you. I thought this ass wasn't going to find his mate for at least another ten years." She punched Kaiden's arm playfully and in return he messed up her hair.

"I'm Lily. His sister." She put out her hand and I laughed as I shook it. It was obvious she was trying to act older than her age. 

"Jade." The woman with black hair stepped forward and brought me into a tight hug. 

She squeezed me so tight that I thought she was going to break my bones. I mean, it wouldn't be hard. 

"Mum, I plan on not breaking my mate today." Kaiden tore me away from his mum's death grip and moved me so I was stood in front of him. His arms were wrapped around my body and he rested his chin on my head. 

"Oh, you too are so cute. I can't believe my baby boy found his mate. You all grown up now Kaiden." Tears started to well up in his mum's eyes and Kaiden let go of me to hug her. 

"Mum, don't cry. You promised." She brought her head out of his chest and placed a kiss on his cheek. 

"Sorry. God I'm such a mess." She started to cry again and the man with light brown hair stepped forward. He brought her into his arms and started to rub her back. 

"Don't cry, baby. He's not going anywhere." He put out his spare hand and I shook it. 

"Kaiden's father. Just call me Uncle Ethan though." 

"Yeah call me Auntie Lucy, and then when you to mate and mark each other you can call me mum. Ohh, I can't wait until you get married and start having babies. They're gonna be so cute!" I felt a blush creep up into my cheeks and I buried my head into Kaiden's chest. 

Everyone started to laugh but all I felt was embarrassment. 

I mean, kids. I've known him for like a day but yet I already feel connected to him. 

"You do have an Uncle Aidan and I know that he would be over the moon to know that your back home, but unfortunately he's on a two month long cruise with his wife in the Caribbean. So, you'll just have to meet him later. Now though, I want to introduce you to two really special people. Kai, Jacob." Liv called out and two boys walked forward. 

One was the same blue eyed boy from earlier and the other looked to be a couple of years younger than me. He had dark brown hair and  chestnut coloured eyes.

Everyone else left including Kaiden, but not without giving me a goodbye kiss on my forehead, so it was just me, the Alpha, Liv, Jacob and Kai left. 

"Jade, these are your brothers. Jacob and Kai." Brothers. I had two brothers. 

The blue eyed boy, I mean Jacob, was completely avoiding making eye contact with me. He just kept muttering things under his breath, so I'm guessing he's talking to his wolf. 

I wonder if I look that crazy when I talk to Amara. 

The smaller one, Kai, stepped forward. "Hey, I'm Kai. I don't know if you remember me." I searched through my memories to see if I could find any recollection of him. 

All I can remember is a very vague memory of a younger version of me, holding hands with small toddler with brown curls. 

"I think I do. You're my younger brother right?" He nods and hugs me. Even though he's younger than me, he's still a good foot taller. I break the hug and he steps to the side.

Jacob stands there and continues to look at me awkwardly. "I'm sorry about before, if I knew who you were.." 

"It's fine. I think it's just better if we start over. Hi, I'm Jade. Your sister, I guess." I put my hand out and he laughed whilst he shook it. 

"Jacob. Your twin brother." He corrected and my eyes widened. I had a twin. A f*****g twin. 

Now that I know, I can see the similarities. We have the same shade of brown hair, our eyes are both shaped the same and our noses are exact replicas of each other. 

"Wow, I have a twin. That's so f*****g cool." All of us broke out into laughter and then I realised that I was surrounded by my family. 

My real birth family. My dad, mum and brothers. Never in a million years did I think that this would have ever happened. 

"All my babies are back home. Safe. We're all together." Liv started to cry and for some reason I felt tears drop form my eyes too. 

"Are you okay Jade?" This time it was my dad, I mean Alpha to speak up. This was the first time I've heard him spoken since he tried to kill me. 

"Yes, Alpha. I'm just so happy." He smiled at me and brought me into his arms. 

"Call me Lex but only if you promise that one day you'll call me dad." I nod and then Liv joins the hug, followed by Jacob and Kai. 

Today has been a whirlwind. I mean, I found my mate, parents, brothers and friends all in the space of a day.

Just two days ago I would be chained to a bed, stuck in a state of depression and now I've met my soulmate and family all in one day. 

I close my eyes and bask in the feeling of being in my father's and mother's arms. For once, I'm happy.
