My heart was caught in a whirlwind of emotions when I spun around and my dull gaze met Corbin’s green eyes sparkling with curiosity.
What was he doing home? I thought Jimmy said… Never mind what Jimmy thought. Corbin was sitting right here in front of me giving me a questioning look combined with a twinge of interest.
I was the first to break eye contact to take in his massive and luxurious bedroom deciding to make my way further into the room, away from the door.
His bedroom was divided into two rooms, his sleeping space on the upper level while his gaming and computer space on the bottom level.
“Missing me already?” I know he was teasing and I almost played along. Only it would have been the truth because I felt comfortable around him and once you are at his side you don’t want to leave.
It was a mistake to have met him. I finally understood everyone’s obsession with him. He had a certain aspect that pulled you to him and you didn’t fight it because you want to be indulged in whatever he can give.
“Jimmy’s party is kind of lame and thought I could hide upstairs.” He gave me a knowing stare as if he knew I was lying.
“Why do you think I hang out in my room whenever he throws a party?” Corbin at least didn’t question why I lied but I guess it wasn’t that important to him.
I chuckled. “Not a fan? I thought it was your way of picking up girls and luring them to your room.”
He arched an eyebrow. “I believe my plan is working since you are here and that is without even trying.”
I don’t know where my sudden confidence came from as I sat down next to him on the couch, loving the way his gaze followed my every move. “Jimmy dragged you out of bed again after convincing you it will be fun?” He took notice of my tired eyes.
“He convinced me that you weren’t going to be here,” I answered honestly.
He wasn’t surprised by my forthright answer. “Yet, here I am.”
I smiled. “So, it seems.”
I didn’t care if Corbin and I never see each other ever again but I couldn’t deny the spark between us. In the last five years, I didn’t believe I would ever feel like this or have such a reaction to someone. My body was literally on fire and he wasn’t even touching me.
“Can I get you anything to drink?” He offered but I declined kindly.
He arched an eyebrow at me. “Afraid that I will take advantage?” My body wished he would break the reins holding him back while my mind feared his every intention.
“I know a few bad-ass moves if you so much think about making the wrong move,” I said with a playful tone.
“I am not the kind of person who strips a girl from her dignity, sweetheart.” Corbin’s endearment didn’t bother me because he wasn’t mocking me. Unlike the men at the bar who keeps taunting my patience.
“What exactly happened with you and Jimmy? I get the feeling he is dragging your name through the mud and you are just him permission to do whatever he can to ruin you.” I asked, showing my curiosity.
Corbin shrugged. “I am two years older than Jimmy and usually it is the second kid who gets all the attention. The first kid usually does everything wrong and turns out to be the bad guy or bully but, in our household, it works a bit differently.” He started to explain.
“I just don’t get why you would let him do that to you,” I remarked with confusion.
“It makes him look like the good guy and girls love good and decent guys.” He answered.
“That’s where the problem comes in. He makes you look like the bad guy while you are not. The girls he lures out to his house will never fall for him while you exist.” His grin blew my breath away.
“He is my brother. I know about his insecurities and blames me for every single mistake he has ever made but I am not the kind of guy who turns his back on his family.” I shook my head, sensing that Corbin was too kind-hearted.
“Having you here with me. Alone in my room is not a good idea.” His words send a shudder up my spine and I was suddenly aware of the s****l tension between us. “My brother has a serious thing for you and I will destroy him if I so much touch you.” I felt his eyes brushing over my skin as he stared at me and at this moment I didn’t care about Jimmy’s feelings.
“The same way he betrayed you when he decided to sleep with your girlfriend.” I pointed out.
Corbin said nothing as he just stared at me. Eyes guarded but his face showed enough. He was hurting from inside at the thought of what his brother is doing to him.
“I was the i***t who let my guard down and trust my brother. If Giselle truly cared about me, she wouldn’t have betrayed me.”
“You can’t just blame her for betraying you. Jimmy knew and yet, he still went ahead to betray you.” I pointed out.
“Are you implying that I should kick him out? Continue to be mad at him and share his anger? I can’t turn back time, Camille. I am furious about what both of them did to me and what they are still doing. I try my best not to be here with them around but Jimmy is finding ways to intimidate and hurt me.”
“Our father won’t ever forgive me if I have to kick him out.” He dropped his head and pushed his fingers through his hair.
“So, you take the hurt even though it is suffocating you?” His eyes met mine and they weren’t guarded anymore.
“It feels as if you know what I am going through but on a much deeper level.” He acknowledged.
“Let’s just say. I know what it feels like to lose and be treated like the suspect.” I said.
“Why haven’t you fallen for my brother’s tricks? He must have told you how poisonous I am and how I stole each of his girlfriends. He must have probably even begged you to say away from me because it will break his heart.”
“Maybe I was the lucky one who got the chance to meet you personally.” His eyes flared with desire. “Where I come from, we don’t judge someone on what we’ve heard because rumours are usually spread by jealousy.”
His eyes pulled me and without being in control anymore of my own judgments I feel myself leaning in when he eased forward. Our lips were a mere touch apart and I knew he was testing me. Seeing how far I will take this and leaving me in charge of my own decisions.
I lifted my gaze finding his gaze focused on me. Easing forward I pressed my lips against his feeling as if I was transformed into a world of fireworks.
His lips were warm and soft against mine. I felt his confidence coiling through his arms as he reached out touching my cheek with his hand. Corbin kissed me soft and slow. Taking his time memorizing the shape of my lips before he broke the kiss. Pulling back a little to check up on me.
I’ve never felt anything so electrified.
I closed my eyes when I felt his fingers brushing across my cheek, slowly travelling down in my neck and then I felt his lips against mine again. The shape of his lips moulding over mine as if they were made to fit.
He kissed me delicately and even though I appreciated his consideration. I wanted more. So, much more. I already crossed the line and I was going all the way.
I swiped my tongue over his lips and kissed him frantically, furiously, our tongues entwined. My hands snaked around his shoulders and I hummed at the feel of his strong shoulders underneath my palms.
I didn’t imagine the chemistry or s****l tension between us at the feel of my body shivering when I felt his hand slip underneath my top, resting on my hip as his fingers dug into my skin.
I felt myself easing onto my back with him following until his body was nestled between my legs and devouring my lips. His shirt was the first to go and I couldn’t remove my eyes from his toned upper body and the way his muscles contracted.
Feeling bold I reached out and skimmed my hands over the toned ridges of his chest. Walking my fingers down and over his six-pack. Loving the way he reacted to my touch.
Corbin reached for the hem of my shirt asking for permission with his eyes and I had no objection. He was gentle and slow when he gathered the bottom of my shirt and pushed it over my naval and head.
I heard his loud inhale when my shirt dropped to the ground and his gaze took in the size of my plump, full breasts peeking through my black lacey bra.
