Hearing the sound of 20 hybrid 1600 engines passing the pit lane made the hairs on my neck stand up straight as the cars made their way around the track. Getting in a few practice rounds before tomorrow’s qualifying. I’ve been ill for the first couple of days but at least recovered before we were allowed to head to the track for our practice runs. On our first day, we all took a walk around the track to take in all the curves and turns before we started to discuss our plan. Mike didn’t want me on the job yet, with my mind still behind and struggling to catch on with the reality that I was really here.
