Without waiting for anyone, Oliver barged in and came to stand in front of Raymond Artair. Emily stood up quickly, knowing the situation could get awkward despite their being nothing to worry about.
“Oliver, Raymond and I were just going to conclude our meeting. Come sit with us,” Emily said, and Oliver glanced at her.
“Are you sure you’re done?” He asked and Emily nodded. Raymond stood up to greet Oliver and smiled.
“Nice to see you here, Oliver,” he said at which Oliver nodded.
“Nice to see you too,” Oliver said.
“I have a proposition for your company and I have discussed it with Emily. If you will be interested, I will be glad to work with you and your father,” Raymond said seriously.
Emily saw Oliver nod reluctantly. “I will get back to you after discussing with her.”
“Sure, see you soon. Bye,” Raymond said to both of them and left.
As soon as he was out the door, Oliver turned to Emily and asked, “What was he doing here having coffee?”
Emily frowned in surprise. “He’s my client, Oliver. We’re bound to have a discussion.”
Oliver came forward and pulled her to him by her arms. “I hate that man,” he said, kissing her forehead.
“He’s just a client, Oliver and he did nothing for you to think so,” Emily defended Raymond and Oliver’s frown deepened
“He’s a pervert,” he said and hugged her tightly to him.
Emily chuckled and looked up at him. “I used to think that too but I have found out he’s quite a decent man.”
Oliver’s lips pressed into a thin line as he glanced down at her and Emily chuckled.
“Remember we have to keep it ourselves,” Emily said and Oliver nodded letting her go.
“I know but I have come here to take you. I have to show you something,” he said with a genuine smile and tugged her by the hand towards the door.
Emily’s brows furrowed and she chuckled. “Wait, at least tell me what it is?” She asked as he pulled her out of the office while Emily struggled to take her bag and phone.
“You will see when you get there.”
She instructed her secretary on the way and followed Oliver into the elevator.
Oliver tried to kiss her on the lips at which she smacked him. “Not here, somebody will see us.”
Oliver grumbled but followed since they had agreed that they would be keeping it their secret. No one else knew that they were sleeping together and since Oliver lived with his family at the mansion and Emily with hers, they had to sneak out to random places to spend time with each other.
They rode together to the destination Oliver had informed his driver of and on the way they obviously couldn’t keep their hands off each other. When they reached the destination and got out of the car, Emily patted her hair and lips to make any traces of her making out disappear. Oliver got out with a smirk on his lips and walked with Emily towards a lavish apartment lobby.
Emily looked around in curiosity and nodded in approval. “Am I going to meet someone?”
Oliver looked at her and pulled her closer to him. “No.”
Kissing her lightly on the lips, he walked with her inside the elevator and pressed his card to the scanner and the elevator then proceeded towards the desired floor.
It was towards the penthouse that the elevator was headed. Emily looked at Oliver who was staring at her like a predator would at their prey.
“Don’t look at me like that,” Emily said, biting her lip and Oliver smirked.
He pulled her to him and kissed her hard on the lips. “I can’t wait to be inside you,” he whispered in her ear, making her shiver.
Emily giggled and kissed his temple. “And I am waiting for your surprise.”
The elevator’s door opened and both of them stepped out. Oliver guided Emily towards a set of double doors which was the only door in there.
He scanned the card and the door beeped, signaling that it was open. Emily stared curiously as Oliver entered and invited her in.
“Come on in,” Oliver said and Emily stepped inside.
Her eyes widened and she gasped lightly. It was a beautiful penthouse with floor to ceiling windows in the front highlighting the view of the city and the rest was furnished lavishly.
She looked at the living room which was modernly furnished and then the kitchen which was adequate in size and furnished with every necessary appliance.
“Wow, beautiful.” Emily said and glanced at Oliver.
“But why are you showing me this?”
“Because it’s mine,” Oliver said with a grin and Emily’s mouth fell open in shock.
“Yours? Are you serious?” She asked walking further inside and then turning to look at Oliver in disbelief.
He nodded with a smile.
“I was tired of booking random hotel rooms to be with you,” he said with a laugh and Emily laughed as well.
She went up to him and kissed him on the lips. Oliver was waiting for her and kissed her back passionately, gently squeezing her hips.
“I can’t wait to have you on this couch,” Oliver inclined his head in the direction of the couch in the living room. Then he looked at the kitchen counter.
“Or on that counter… or on that table,” Oliver said, eying the dining table at last and Emily chuckled.
She turned his face to her and slowly unbuttoned his shirt. “Don’t worry, we have got plenty of time to do that.”
Oliver didn’t have to wait any longer and he picked her up in his arms and carried her towards his bedroom.
It was then his phone rang which was placed in his pocket and he ignored it, carrying Emily to his bedroom.
Emily looked down at his pocket but Oliver kissed her. “Don’t worry, it’s nothing important.”
“Are you sure?” Emily asked but Oliver shook his head. “I am sure.”
He carried her to the bedroom and Emily turned her head to admire the interior. His bedroom was decorated in gold and gray. With wall decor in gold and the furniture in gray.
“It’s beautiful, Oliver,” Emily said and stood straight when he put her down.
It was then Oliver’s phone rang again and he just took it out of his pocket and put it on the dresser.
“I am glad you like it, Emily. Because this is the place where we will be spending most of our nights,” he said and pulled her closer.
He tucked one of her blonde tendrils to the back of her ear and Emily looked into his eyes. “Sometimes I can’t believe that we are doing this.”
“I can end your suspicions,” Oliver said and slowly unzipped her dress.
Emily tugged his head down and pecked his lips.
It was then his phone rang again, startling them. Oliver groaned, throwing his head back and Emily’s gaze went to the phone.
“I will get us drinks while you get comfy on that bed,” Oliver said lowering down the volume of his phone.
Emily nodded as he went out and back to the kitchen. She saw his phone vibrating on the dresser again as it ringed again.
Getting impatient, she took a step closer and wondered who it was who were calling him again and again. She wondered if it was any emergency and glanced at the screen of the phone.
Her brows furrowed reading the name on the screen.
“Evelyn?” She read and frowned.
Who was Evelyn? His assistant was a man so he couldn’t be named Evelyn then who else could it be?
Was he seeing some other woman as well? Because Emily and Oliver were only sleeping together and there was no other commitment between them. She wondered if they were even exclusive. Her heart sank of thinking of the possibility that he might be seeing other women as well.
