Josephine’s father- the ex-king as of mere minutes ago and the current King Regent- had started planning the coronation of the twins a long time ago, maybe from the moment his Alpha sons had been born. Technically, the King only needs hand over the crown when he is found unfit to rule due to either physical or mental illness, and even then the choice is solely in the hand of the current King who has to consentingly transfer the power to his chosen heir, or heirs in this case.
