Though it was Peter Jamie met first, it’s Thad he considers a better friend. A real friend, not just an acquaintance or someone he knows from school. He met Mark in band class, and Peter’s brother Seth at practice, but they’re both too old for him to feel comfortable with. They’re like the bad boys who hung around the halls of his high school—nice on their own but a terror together. Mark’s a full year from graduating and already has a nasty case of senioritis. Seth is too busy checking out girls to pay attention to much of anything else. Most of the time, the guys ditch the three freshmen to their own devices, and Jamie would be lying if he didn’t admit he wished Peter would disappear sometimes, too. For someone Jamie’s own age, Peter’s a bit of a prude. He’s always studying or practicing
