22. Airspace

The next day doesn't start out much better. We get a planet analyzed, and it turns out they have a plague of some kind. The brains decide it's not safe for me. So we go again. I tour the ship while it travels. Come to find out, the ship is divided into 2 sections. The 2nd section is accessed through a giant walkway. It has windows around it. I go to the top floor of the 2nd section. It seems to be a restaurant of some kind. There are lots of food boxes on the walls, and tables and chairs everywhere with a bar off to the side. But the most amazing part is the ceiling and walls. They are 1 big window. All I can see is space. I lay in the middle of the floor and watch out for I don't know how many hours. I end up falling asleep. Everything about this is relaxing.
A brain wakes me up after a while. "Did you want dinner in here?"
"Sure." I pry my ass off the ground and plop on a seat.
"Chicken sandwich and fries."
"Thank you. Do I have brains at my castle?"
"Yes."
"How is it?"
"It's fine. No new damage."
"How is Alden?"
"Unknown, he is in the royal house."
"Is anyone in there with him?"
"No. He has not allowed any visitors in 3 days."
"Who is running the place?"
"Clark."
"Take me back. I'll get some more of my paintings and the game my dad gave me."
"Of course, ma'am."
That'll work. I won't even have to see anyone really. I make it to the command area after I get done eating. I sit in my chair and watch out the window. Then I get the "Incoming transmission" alert.
"Go ahead."
It connects and Tye is sitting there. "You look sleepy."
"I was sleeping on the floor in the restaurant."
He laughs. "It has nice views. And I saw the footage of that village. That was a huge ass snake."
"It really was. They should put that in the game, you are about to be sacrificed to a huge ass snake. What do you do?" We crack up laughing.
"You did perfectly though. I saw the fire. That was a good start. The brains got you out."
"If the brains hadn't been there, I would still be frozen in place and screaming."
"I probably would be too."
We laugh again. "Have you got a chance to play the game again?"
"Yea, we played it for a whole day. Showed our table how it works. Everyone seems to enjoy it."
"Is it a lot different from the version I have?"
"Not really. But the box doesn't open until the magic gets stopped inside it. We haven't had any blizzards or sand storms in the ballroom yet."
"That's a good thing. Although those things are kind of fun too. It's like crowd participation."
He laughs and rubs his eyes. "That's a good one. Although when the box came down in the last part of the match and that golem was standing there, I nearly pissed myself."
"I must have been sleeping for that."
"Yea I think we all took a nap. We played that game for a long time. Those wars are fun though."
"Yea, that was fun."
"So where are you heading to now?"
"I'm going back to my castle. I want to get some more of my parents' paintings and I want to grab the game my daddy gave me."
"Oh, we thought you were going to another planet the way Marcus talked."
"We got to it, but there was a plague or something. The brains said it wasn't safe for me to go down."
The lights all brighten. "Incoming transmission."
I stare at Tye. "Did you see that? How can that happen, I'm already talking to you?"
"Yes, can you put it on the screen, so I can see it too please?"
"Can you do that?"
"Yes, ma'am."
"Ok and accept." Tye's screen goes to half the size it was.
Then another screen pops up right beside him. The man's face is not human. It is brown with little horns right down the center. He's got a big horn for a nose. Then he has 2 more on his head. They stick out the top of his head about 10 inches. He has bushy black hair that's going every direction. He has a brown uniform jacket on as well, with gold buttons and trim. It's fancy.
"You are in our airspace. Leave immediately. You will be fired on in 30 seconds."
My eyebrows shoot up. "What? Why?"
"This is our home. You leave. You are not welcome here."
"What did I do?"
Dipak jumps on the screen with Tye. "Get her out of there. Use hyperspace."
I give him a dirty look.
The brown man stares at me. "10, 9, 8..." We're gone. Both transmissions drop.
"Dipak has been informed we are in hyperspace."
"How long until we're at the castle?"
"34 minutes, ma'am."
"That's quicker than I thought it was going to be. I'll go fix myself. At least I ate and had a nap." I grab the black box and go to my room. I pick the long white hair again, but I put a few curls in it. Then I check the outfits. I pick a fitted white dress with blue designs. It's cut a little low around my boobs, but it's fine. Then it goes halfway down to my knees. That's good too. I put some high heels on that match the blue. Then I get a necklace, bracelet, and ring that have blue stones. I feel pretty. I go down to the shuttles and get in the 1 closest to the door.
The shuttle talks next. "We have arrived at Terros. Are you ready to begin the descent?"
I feel terrible, and my stomach is turning. I have no idea what I'm about to walk in on. All I can do is prepare for the worst. "Yes. To the castle please."
"Yes ma'am."
