Hand landing on the knob, she pushes the door open only to find Abel on the ground pulling his hair like he's in pain.
His groans echo the room and it spikes concern on every aspect of Loona's body. A terrified shiver slithers down her spine like a snake and she can feel her own wolf whimper at the sight of her cousin looking like this.
Quickly leaving the doorframe, her feet get to work.
"Hey, are you okay? What happened?" She runs to her cousin's side, trying to pry his hands off from his hair but to no avail.
Abel's eyes are shut tight and he's biting down on his lip hard. It's not okay if he keeps that up and it's at that moment that Loona sees it. A trace of blood catches Loona's sight and it heightens her worry even more.
This is not good.
Not again.
It's something that comes in without warning and heaven knows how long it takes for it to pack up and leave, only to return in another day.
"Snap out of it Abel." It barely comes out as a firm command. Almsot like a whisper. As if that would work. Her heart's accelerating.
His skin feels cold like ice but he's sweating so much.
Her eyebrows furrow low as she takes notice of his trembling fingers and the way his eyes twitch every now and then.
This obviously isn't a good thing.
"You'll be fine." She murmurs, but mostly to herself. He'll be fine in a few minutes.
Because this isn't the first time something like this had happened.
And it worries her every single time, but what can she do?
"W-why did she l-leave ugh!" Arlo pulls his hair more, groaning in pain.
All she can do is stay by his side until it goes away.
Slowly she takes the space beside him and rests her spine against the wall, hand running around his back in a comforting manner.
"Just breath in and out." She whispers, sniffing lightly under her breath." Don't force yourself."
He's in a lot of pain. Even she knew that. Seeing him this way, so vulnerable, honestly crushes her heart.
Loona closes her eyes and leans her head back.
A couple of minutes eventually passes by and Abel finally lets his hair go. The usual confusion crosses his face as he wipes away the tears from his eyes. Loona remains silent and allows her causing to fully grasp reality.
Once he does, he looks her way and asks. "Did It happen again?"
She nods her head. Abel covers his face with both his hands hands and exhales deeply. "I don't remember anything."
Although it comes out mumbled by the barrier of his palms, her wolf ears make it possible for her to easily pick up what it was he said.
And it twists her heart. It pains her just as much as it pains him. She doesn't like what's going on and if she was able to fix everything up in a flick of a finger, she'd have already done it years ago. But it wasn't that easy. And every day that passes, it.pnly makes her feel like she's wasting her time.
She's here for a reason. That excuse of wanting to leave the walls of her home to explore the world was just an excuse. She had to be around her cousin in order to help him out.
"Are you still up for night's out or not?" She asks. "If you want, we can just stay in doors."
She won't force him now that she's had to see him like that. It'll make her feel guilty if she pushes on with the plan and feigns ignorance of what had just happened. She's not that bad of a person.
The man shakes his head, silver locks swaying with the movement. He pulls himself up before extending a hand to help Loona up too.
"I'll go change. My car key's in the drawer. I'll be down in a few minutes."
Her lips have shaped into a weary frown, tugged down on both sides. For a few moment, she drags her worried eyes up and down her cousin as if checking if he was really in the right state to go outside.
Although she is quite aware that he's really okay as that was just a passing phase that really never left him any bad side effects, she still cant help but feel pity for him. Of course she won't tell him that. He'd send her back to her parents.
And she's not lying when she says he is capable of doing that.
Forcing a smile, Loona does a playful soldier salute and exits after taking the keys.
