The day went by fast thanks to long meetings and soon it was dinner time. I left my office and walked to the dining hall. I took my seat and waited for Soren to arrive. While I waited, I thought about tonight. I didn’t look around and I didn’t talk with anyone.
Soren arrived and sat at the head of the table as always. The servants brought us dinner and I waited for the King to take his first bite so the rest of us could eat. Once he did, everyone dug into our meal. We were having wild boar with bread and freshly cooked carrots.
“How are the plans coming along?” Soren asked me while he leaned back in his chair.
