The thunder continues outside but it doesn't scare me anymore. No matter how loud it roars, all I could hear was the pounding of my heart. My heart hammers against my ribs. I have no idea when the air felt so hot around the room, but it’s too obvious to ignore. Too remarkable to be dismissed. And I was sure it’s not only me.
“What the hell?” I frantically looked up and searched around the once again dark room.
I heard his heavy sigh as a reaction to what happened but didn’t say anything. I echoed him but my voice was more exasperated.
I moved on my side to distance myself from him but his hands were still either on my arm or his jacket on me. Warm. Gentle.
