Leonid would never tell him how I feared the thought of sleeping alone and away from our house. I’ve tried it once, sleeping in a hotel, but the hotel was owned by a business partner. The familiarity of it made me feel safe. It took several out-of-town and out-of-the-country trips to finally conquer sleeping alone and away from home.
As for my fear of the thunder, it only occurs when I’m away from home. I thought it’s long gone until I experienced it again tonight. Of course, I was alone in a hotel resort’s villa and with all of the nearby villas empty. Plus the power outage.
“It’s probably just my pregnancy. I’m not scared of sleeping alone and definitely not of thunder,” I lied with the roll of my eyes to the dark. “Whoever told you that was lying.”
