I woke to find Octavia staring at me. I rubbed my eyes and slowly moved my body to a sitting position. It was daytime, the sun was shining high above the trees, and it was very warm, if I were to hazard a guess I would say it was past midday. The overpowering buzz of cicadas was deafening.
