But then she caught sight of something else. Something that had been hidden by the dark shadows cast by the trees. A glowing blue light pulsated steadily. Not far from her, shining brightly, was a large blue orb about the size of a soccer ball. A tiny dot of red glowed at its center. As it bobbed back and forth, the orb spun slowly around the spot of red. The girl let out an involuntary gasp. It felt like she was being sucked into the orb. She tried to scream, but her throat refused to form any sound. She sat frozen, unable to move. Then everything went black. *** When she woke up, the girl's first thought was to run. Her heart pounded furiously in her chest. She wanted nothing more than to get out of here. But when she opened her eyes, she realized she was still lying on the ledge.
