32 In the morning it occurred to me that Darion and I had actually passed each other without knowing it. From what I saw of Darion’s encounter with the dinosaur, and the direction the roars had come from, they were a lot further along the river. They’d travelled along the river bank and Anjou and I had gone away from the water and missed them completely. The thought made me so furious and so frustrated that I had to close my eyes and take a few deep breaths. How long would I have to stay in this awful place and play my role? I did not want to stay long enough for Anjou to think we had a chance at a life together. He should have picked the redhead... No! Then Turak would have been able to buy me! A cold shiver ran down my spine as I thought of that scenario again. It was a lose/lose situat
