Darion instinctively ducked while we both pushed upward on Starrick’s hand so that he missed his target. The first two shots went up into some nearby trees and the third hit the roof of the cave. Rocks showered down on all of us again, some of the larger ones hitting Starrick in the head and knocking him to his knees.
Darion ported the gun out of Starrick’s hands and two of the soldiers pulled Starrick back to his feet. One of the soldiers uncuffed one of Starrick’s wrists, pulled both hands around and secured the cuffs behind him. They stood either side of him, holding his arms firmly. He wasn’t going anywhere.
Everyone had been hit by debris or dust and we stood brushing it off.
