Chapter Seventeen By Wednesday morning, Susanna’s back was killing her from sleeping on the couch for the last two nights. She tried doing some yoga moves she saw on television during one of her bouts of insomnia in the middle of the night, but that just made it worse. She missed her bed. Anne proved to be a talkative roommate, probably from living alone for so long. However, Anne gave Susanna more attention than she usually had, even living with two men. While she appreciated her friend helping her out by giving her a place to stay, Susanna was eager to find her own place again. Christmas was too far away to keep sleeping on a hard couch. With a couple of hours to kill before her shift at work, she decided to get some holiday shopping done. She still hadn’t bought anything and, as usua
