6. The Hot Smith

"What's going on!" The booming voice seemed to cut my veins. I turned my head when Johan Smith walked up and saw the mess. His gaze was fixed on the expensive urn broken into pieces. I became afraid. Nathan was so relaxed in this situation. "Who broke my favorite urn!" Johan Smith was in shock. Let alone him, I was shocked, too. I looked at Nathan, who was expressionless, and then I turned to Robert. "I was talking here and... " Robert was about to say something, but suddenly Nathan pointed at him instead. "This man is the culprit," Nathan said. Everyone looked at Robert. I didn't expect Nathan to do this to Robert. "What are you talking about, Boy. I didn't even touch him!" Robert screeched. "Don't joke with me!" What was Robert saying? Doesn't he know that Nathan is Johan Smith's son? I'm sure Robert wouldn't be this horrified. "Do you doubt me?" Nathan challenged Robert. "Then who are you accusing of breaking this urn? Me? Do you think I'd be stupid enough to break my dad's urn?" "Your dad?" Robert laughed out loud. "You even recognize Johan Smith as your father." "I'm sure you should know who I am." Nathan showed his seriousness. "I am Nathan Smith." I was so worried. I didn't want to get involved in this fight because it involved a lot of money. I looked around. There was CCTV here. If Johan Smith had wanted to see the footage, maybe Nathan would have been caught breaking the urn. "Dad, can we see the CCTV footage? I want you to know who broke the urn. If it was me, I'd replace it, but if the man in front of me is the culprit, cancel any cooperation with this man. You shouldn't cooperate with a reckless man while in someone else's house." This was crazy. Nathan knew the CCTV footage would show who the culprit was, but he wasn't scared. I'm amazed at this young man. What was his purpose in doing this? Did he want to help me? Why? I mean. We don't know each other well. Why would he help me? I was wrong to underestimate Nathan. He wasn't just some prankster m**********g in his room. "I don't need to see CCTV," Johan Smith said. "I believe in my son. I won't ask you for compensation, Robert, but I'm sorry. I don't think I can cooperate with you." "Mr. Smith, why do you have more faith in this young man? You should have had more faith in me? I wouldn't have done such a ridiculous thing!" Robert felt anxious. Why was Robert so anxious? Why was he so afraid that Jonah Smith would not cooperate with him? Is there a problem with his company? I don't know, but I like that Nathan did the right thing. At least he'd made Robert stop bothering me. "Of course, I have more faith in my son, Robert. He wouldn't lie to me," Johan Smith said. Robert widened his eyes. Nathan had already made that clear. "So, this young man is really your son?" Robert pointed at me, but before he could speak, Nathan kicked him. I was so shocked. Nathan shouldn't have done that. "Get out of here! Or I'll call the police. I bet you don't want the news to write an article about you breaking an urn at my dad's party!" I still couldn't believe what I was seeing. Robert was so embarrassed by this incident. He quickly walked out of this place. Meanwhile, Johan Smith looked very upset. "So immoral," Johan Smith said. Nathan looked at me, who couldn't say anything. He even smiled and winked at me. Oh my God. He made all this up on purpose. "You are here, Miss. I am so sorry for the mess." Johan Smith just realized my existence. "Oh, don't worry, Mr. Smith. I won't say anything. Everything is safe." I really didn't want to get involved with this mess. "The urn means a lot to me, but I think I should replace it with a new one." Johan Smith was no longer angry. "Thank goodness. I don't have to put on an act for Robert. He's so annoying." Robert was annoying? Why? Did Johan Smith dislike Robert? As far as I knew, Robert had no business skills. "I'll invite you to dinner next time. I think I'd like to talk to you more, Ms. Wilson." Johan smiled at me. "Dad, she is my lecturer, Dad!" Nathan warned his father. Johan Smith was still smiling at me. I just smiled back at him. "I'm going to take my lecturer home. I'm embarrassed for her to see this mess," Nathan said. He walked past Johan Smith while I was confused about how to behave. Nathan turned to me. He was waiting for me to follow him. "Nice to meet you, Sir." "I'll call you," Johan Smith said. I quickly hurried to follow Nathan. He didn't come out of the house but led me to a narrow street on the sidelines of this luxurious residence. "Shouldn't I go home?" I asked. "I can go home by myself. You go back." Nathan ignored me and took my hand. We walked into a small, dark hallway. No one was there, but I saw a gap between the walls. Beyond it was the house I lived in. "Don't get too close to my dad. If he asks you to dinner, you must turn him down." Nathan was so serious about warning me. "Why? Isn't he technically my boss? I should do what he says..." "Just do what I say." Nathan was annoyed. The intonation of his voice became high. I was taken aback by Nathan's warning that his father was dangerous. Why was this young man so possessive? What does he think of me? "Do you think I'd sleep with your dad?" I didn't want to be bullied by Nathan. He was my student, after all. Nathan didn't answer me. Instead, he averted his eyes. "I'm a lecturer, Nathan. I wouldn't do anything outside of morals, especially with my boss. You don't have to worry. I'll be very professional. And one more thing. Stay out of my and Robert's business. You don't have to bother breaking jars for
