Fallon POV
After he left, I threw myself back to lie on the bed. My mind couldn’t quite understand what happened to me a few moments earlier. Did I just kiss a stranger in this bed?
It was insane. I must be dreaming. But I still felt that warm tingling feeling on my lips from the kisses.
No man ever kissed me that way. I should’ve known that he’s not Austin. In fact, they can’t even be compared.
Oh, shut up right there. You were cheating on him, and now you were comparing both of them.
This isn’t fair for Austin. He was nothing but sweet to me. But I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t enjoying the kiss from that stranger earlier.
Everything about him is so… tempting. The way he holds me tightly in his arms. The smell of his cologne. The softness of his hair when I gripped onto them. The intensity of his eyes…It bares my soul naked.
I stopped myself and sat up on the bed. What is wrong with me? I shouldn’t be thinking about another man. I loved Austin.
My eyes then wandered to the clock that hanged on the wall. s**t. I’m so late for work today.
************
I hurriedly ran towards my desk as I entered my office tower. I was late by thirty minutes, and this was the first time in history that I came late to work.
Thanks to the mysterious man who appeared out of nowhere this morning. Uugghh.
I turned to hate him so much right now. I might voodoo him from my place if only I knew his name.
I just finished putting my bag on the floor when Hellen suddenly came into my office. “You’re late today... Are you the owner of this company?” she said, throwing an unfriendly glare at me.
I want to rip her snarky little mouth so badly. Calm down, Fallon. She’s your boss. All you have to do is suck it up and pretend that you were sorry in front of her.
“I’m sorry, Hellen. I had a situation this morning. I promise you this won’t happen again.” I told her, forcing a smile on my face. Hellen must’ve sensed that I was faking it. She then snorted at me. What a b***h.
“Have you finished with the report that I asked you this Monday?” she asked challengingly, raising an eyebrow at me. Is she crazy or what? There’s no way a person could finish making the whole new catalog in just three days.
My mind was thinking about many smart replies to make her feel stupid, but then Laura stepped into my room as well.
“Ah!?.. Fallon, thank God you’re here. Can I have your time for a sec? I need to ask your opinion about the new blazer.” Laura asked me. I was tempted to say. Why don’t you ask the new Chief Executive Manager instead? Why ask a small meaningless manager like me?
I was starting to resent Laura as well. She knew that I was the one with the talent, and yet she hired another person to fill the position that I wanted. The world is so unfair.
But then, I’ve always set the right example here. The perfect employee and walking role model for the others. “Sure…” I said. I was hoping that I could escape from the morning session with Hellen either.

I was still religiously working on my desk when Austin called me. “Hey, you’re still in the office?” He asked.
My eyes went to the pile of folders on the right side of my table. I had no idea how many hours will it took for me until I could finish with them all.
“Yup, still a long way to go. Why don’t you have dinner before me? Don’t wait up, okay.” I replied to him.
“No…” he replied curtly, making me stopped working for a while. “No? But, Austin—“
Suddenly, there was a knock on my door. I got up from my chair to open the door and was shocked to see Austin standing there with a package of food in his other hand.
“No… Because I had several reasons. First, hate to eat alone. And second, because I know that you are also hungry, and I’m here at your service.” He said with a smile.
“You got me, Attorney Moore. Mind explaining why are we still talking on the phone while you were standing in front of me?” I asked, smiling coyly at him.
He let out a chuckle before he put down his phone and took a step closer towards me to give me a tight hug. “I missed you, Fallon Lane…” he whispered in my ear.
I wished I could tell him the same, but my mind was pretty much occupied by other things.
We break apart after a while. “What’s inside that bag?” I asked him, switching the topic. He made a face before he answered.
“Chinese… I know you were on a diet, which I thought was truly unnecessary since you were still sexy as Hell. But trust me, their dumplings are to die for.” I let out an amused laugh.
“Who said I was on a diet? I was merely watching my figure. That’s all.” I tried to argue with him. It’s true, though. Sometimes it’s hard to work in a fashion industry without being a size two.
We have to wear branded clothes to work, and most of them wouldn’t look good in big sizes.
“Okay, but at least try the dumpling,” Austin said, still trying to convince me as he started to unpack all the food from the package and passed me the chopstick.

Dominic POV
I can’t stop thinking about her ever since that day. I had to find a way to see her again. Kevin had been suspicious about my plan to extend my visit in New York.
He knew how much I hated this place. But I am the boss here. I don’t have to explain all my decision to him. Now my target was her… and also the necklace. But she’s more important and fun at the moment.
“Boss, this is what I’ve found,” Ronan told me as he sent me an email. This is what I’ve been waiting for. I quickly checked my email from the laptop, and there was one new email from him.
Bingo. Her personal data. My heart raced as I clicked the folder open.
Name…Fallon Lane... Fallon… I like the sound of her name. It was quite catchy.
Age…Twenty Eight. Perfect. She’s just two years younger than me. I smiled after I knew the fact about her age. She just had a birthday last Monday. So I guessed mom’s necklace must be the present for her birthday.
Is this what you called by fate? Or should I thank Ricardo Blaine for stealing my necklace from me? No, I’ll never give any credit to that bastard. I think this is mom leading me the way to her.
I asked my man to monitor her daily activity to calculate my next move before approaching her again.
She was quite busy. Every day she would come to the office by eight o clock sharp and go back home around ten at night. It makes me wonder why she had to work that hard? If she was with me, she didn’t have to work even for a minute. I could provide her with everything that she needs.
I told Ronan to dig deeper into her financial status, but she didn’t have any debt. She was just plain ambitious. She’s somehow reminded me of my mom. She often argued with dad because she wanted to be a career woman, but dad never allowed her to work at the office.
Dad wanted his wife to wait for him every day at home when he got back home from work.
I already know so much about her schedule. After waiting for two more days, I then decided to meet her again tonight. Fallon used to hang out with her friends at the bar on Friday night to what she called by girl’s night out.
Girl’s night out means one night without Austin. Sounds good to me. Seems like tonight would be fun.

Fallon POV
My brain nearly froze from working too much. I was in desperate need of some break.
A few days had passed. I never heard from him again, and he never showed up in my bedroom uninvited like last time. It’s not that I want him to come again, Hell. The man is scary. He brings a gun with him like a serial killer.
But I was still curious about the thing that he mentioned last time. How could Austin take something that belonged to him? He was not the type of man who liked to steal from other people.
I kept my ‘eventful’ encounter with ‘Mr. Hot guy’ as a secret from Austin because I assume he wouldn’t be pleased to know his girlfriend is making out with another man in his bed.
Yes, I came up with that name. But don’t judge. The name suits him. He was hot… end of discussion.
Avery suddenly barged into my room with a wide smile on her face. Interrupting my unnecessary thought. “Hey girl, pack up your things because it’s FRI-DAY!?” she yelped.
What? Is it Friday already? It means we could go to a bar tonight and have some fun. I quickly shut down my laptop and grabbed my handbag.
“Can I borrow your Dior clutch for tonight?” Avery asked, grinning at me. “Only if I can borrow your Manolo Blahnik heels.” I winked at her in reply. “Deal!?..” she clutched onto my right hand, and we were both heading to her place to change.
I wore a silver metallic V-neck dress that showed a decent amount of cleavage. My hair was curled in loose wave as I felt more like a queen with this hairstyle. Avery’s Manolo heels were like a cherry on top. It complimented my dress perfectly.
I felt all men’s eyes on us as we entered the bar. We never intend to hook up with any of them, or maybe that was Avery’s intention because she’s still single. For me, I just want to have a few drinks and dance until my feet hurt.
I just took a small sip of my drink, and I nearly choked when I saw Mr. Hot Guy standing by the VIP section, watching me intently. That can’t be him! Maybe my eyes were playing a trick on me.
I blinked a few times, but then I saw him approaching me. He’s freaking real!
I got up from my chair and intended to do the first thing that came to my mind.
I had to run from him…
